Environmental Program Manager II

HydroGeoLogic, Inc

The Program Manager II is responsible for leading and managing the company’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) contracts within EPA Region 6 and other regions and ensuring all projects are executed in alignment with client expectations, contractual requirements, and company objectives. Oversee EPA-related projects and project teams Provide strategic leadership Support business development efforts within the EPA portfolio Serve as a primary point of contact for client engagement Mentor and develop staff, including program and project managers The Program Manager II has the potential to work fully remotely within the US with occasional travel to project sites and HGL offices. Preference may be given to candidates who reside within EPA Region 6 (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas).

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing large government contracts and multi-disciplinary teams, preferably in the environmental or engineering sectors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Project for project scheduling and management
  • Must have either a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Professional Geologist (PG) certification, or Professional Engineer (PE) certification
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities, including mentoring and coaching staff
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture while focusing on project details
  • Prior experience managing EPA clients and working with state and local agencies
  • Support the EPA program and direct all EPA-related contracts and CLIN (Contract Line-Item Number) project managers within the region
  • Manage and support a team of staff, including formal employee mentorship
  • Ensure EPA projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with project scope of work and contract requirements
  • Conduct routine meetings with project managers to monitor project progress
  • Guide and enforce company best practices for consistent EPA project execution
  • Serve as a Senior Project Manager
  • Uphold contract and company required QA/QC and Health and Safety standards
  • Serve as the liaison with EPA clients
  • Organize and lead proposal efforts for EPA-related opportunities
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of internal guidelines and processes
