The AI Context Group within the Data Platform Product Line is building the foundation that powers intelligent experiences across HubSpot. We are launching a new, high-priority effort around Foundational Customer Context, and we’re looking for a Frontend Technical Lead to help build and lead it. At HubSpot, Tech Leads are the heart of our engineering teams. This is a hybrid role where you’ll combine strong individual contributor skills with technical, product, and team leadership. You’ll be the founding Frontend Technical Lead for a new team responsible for building the user-facing experiences that allow customers to: View and manage foundational business facts (e.g., brand identity, ideal customer profile, addressable market) Understand how those inputs power AI-driven experiences across HubSpot Maintain control over the context that shapes their intelligent workflows As a Frontend Technical Lead II, you will: Write and ship production code with meaningful customer and business impact Lead frontend architecture and technical direction for a new, high-impact product surface Partner closely with your PM and Designer to define compelling, challenging goals for the team Drive projects end-to-end — from problem framing through execution and iteration Make pragmatic technical decisions that prioritize long-term maintainability and product velocity Work proactively to solve reliability and performance issues Foster a culture of autonomy, psychological safety, and engineering excellence Mentor and grow engineers, helping senior engineers expand their scope and impact Set a high bar for quality and reliability without slowing teams down

Job Requirements

  • Strong senior frontend engineering skills: hands-on experience with modern web frameworks such as React, strong JavaScript / TypeScript fundamentals, and the ability to deliver consumer-grade UI experiences in collaboration with UX design partners.
  • Experience leading small, customer-focused engineering teams
  • Comfort operating as a technical authority in your domain and making architectural decisions with autonomy
  • Experience building complex, data-rich interfaces (configuration systems, stateful workflows, settings experiences, etc.)
  • Pragmatic decision-making and strong problem-solving abilities
  • A deep focus on the user — you care about clarity, usability, and delivering meaningful value
