Commercial General Liability Claims Representative – Fast Track Property Damage

• Directly handles business owner liability claims • Analyzes coverage issues under the Business owners coverage form, garagekeepers, hired non-owned auto, auto services and other standard industry forms • Analyzes, investigates, and evaluates new loss notices and claim tenders • Adjusts total auto losses as part of adjusting liability claims • Expeditiously analyzes and positions claim under applicable coverage • Collaborates on setting reserves at appropriate level for claims • Uses good judgment in managing ALAE in claims investigation • Appropriately documents claim files in accordance with established guidelines • Obtains and maintains adjuster licenses, as required
Job Requirements
- BA/BS degree required
- CPCU or other industry designation a plus
- State adjuster license(s) a plus
- 3+ years prior general liability claims adjusting experience preferred
- Experience in bodily injuries claims preferred
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including proper grammar usage and imparting information in a clear and concise manner
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and meet assigned deadlines
- Promptly responds to inquiries with a sense of urgency
- Ability to work in a collaborative and cooperative approach
- Ability to multi-task and effectively deal with interruptions
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and internet applications
- Highly attentive to details

• Investigate claims issues and provide information to damagers and utility company field technicians • Negotiate settlements with damagers and insurance companies as applicable • Review claim information and request/research additional reference material to complete the claim record • File subrogation packages with insurance companies • Dispute resolution and response to damager objections • Enter data into customized claims systems • Tracks fees, closed and open claims, and other claims information
• Effectively manages a caseload of 150 or fewer workers’ compensation files, including complex claims. • Initiates and investigates promptly. • Determines compensability of claims and administers benefits based upon state law and following established Company guidelines. • Manages medical treatment and medical billing, authorizing as appropriate. • Refers cases to outside defense counsel.
