Paralegal – Contracts & Compliance
Liviniti
• As a Paralegal – Contracts & Compliance, responsible for supporting Liviniti’s Legal and Compliance Department through contract administration, regulatory and licensing support, and day-to-day legal operations. • Prepares client and vendor contracts and other legal documents from standard forms for review, approval, and use by Legal Counsel and Legal Department. • Assists with online legal ticketing system, including reviewing ticket inquiries, preparing necessary documentation, responding to ticket inquiries, maintaining ticket organization, and adhering to expectations regarding turnaround times. • Assists in maintaining the internal database for ticket and contract tracking. • Files correspondence and legal documents in the companywide contracts database or file server. • Assists with client and vendor contract follow-up for all company contracts and other legal documents sent out by the Legal Department. • Assists in responses to redlines on common or standard requests in a timely manner. • Assists in Request for Proposal tasks, as needed. • Assists with coordinating, preparing, and submitting applications for all licenses and registrations within the company to ensure timely submissions and maintain licensing files. • Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes. • Attend, complete, and demonstrate competency in all required HIPAA Training offered by the company. Abide by all obligations under HIPAA related to Protected Health Information (PHI). • Assists Legal Counsel, Manager, and Administrator with various tasks, as needed. Performs clerical duties such as scheduling appointments and providing information to callers. • Participates in special legal projects, as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity
- Sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information
- Healthcare compliance or paralegal certification (preferred).
- Additional legal research certifications and coursework (preferred).
- Experience with business registration or healthcare licensure applications with State authorities (preferred).

The role: We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Litigation Paralegal to play a critical role within our Legal Department. This position will support SoFi’s in-house litigation counsel on litigation and arbitration efforts, including intake of new matters; placement of litigation holds; matter tracking; communications with SoFi’s external legal counsel; coordination with cross-functional teams on litigation matters; and, other litigation- and arbitration-related tasks as directed by the Senior Paralegal or in-house attorneys. What you’ll do: - Intake new litigation matters and log them in SoFi’s systems of record - Maintain accurate and up-to-date litigation-related data in SoFi’s systems of record - Facilitate the gathering of internal discovery; shepherd and complete litigation research requests; conduct internal investigations in response to complaint allegations; answer questions from outside and in-house counsel with regards to allegations made against SoFi - Assist in the generation of litigation-related reports, including financial reporting for delivery to in-house counsel and SoFi’s General Counsel - Support continuous improvement of litigation workflows, tracking tools, and reporting processes. What you’ll need: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience; paralegal certification is a plus. - 2 - 4+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, in either a law firm or in-house legal department.
