Role Description Hampton University Proton Cancer Institute (Hampton Proton) is seeking a part-time Medical Transcriptionist (with 2+ years of experience) who interprets and transcribes dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient assessment, workup, therapeutic procedures, clinical course, diagnosis, prognosis, etc., in order to document patient care and facilitate delivery of healthcare services. This role is a specialist in medical language and ensures that all medical documentation is precise, timely, and compliant with regulatory standards. - Demonstrates an understanding of the medicolegal implications and responsibilities related to the transcription of patient records to protect the patient and the business/institution. - Meets standards of professional and ethical conduct and confidentiality.
