Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
SavvyMoney
Role Description This position will be working 100% Remotely from your home office in India as part of a distributed team in the USA, Canada, Europe, and several locations in India. Working hours should overlap with Central US time zone. We are looking for a Senior SDET who is technically hands-on, actively involved in writing and reviewing automation code and not just overseeing the work. - Design and develop automation frameworks and scripts, including choosing appropriate tools and technologies, creating reusable components, and designing test flows. - Maintain and improve test automation: Update scripts to reflect changes in the application, optimize test execution, and explore new testing tools and techniques. - Create automation testing discipline within development and QA teams. - Execute automated tests against the application, analyze results, and identify any defects or issues. - Work closely with developers to understand application requirements, identify testable areas, and ensure testability is considered during development. - Document found issues, track their status, and communicate effectively with development teams to ensure resolution. - Perform regression testing by running tests after code changes to ensure that new functionality doesn't break existing features. - Document test plans and procedures by providing clear and concise documentation for test scripts, test cases, and overall test strategies. - Work in cross-functional areas with internal partner engineering teams in a disciplined agile environment. - Actively engage with fellow engineers to ensure we are delivering tools that make product development easier. - Communicate, coordinate and align automation strategy with the engineering team members, make recommendations to improve reliability, performance, best practices, and processes. Qualifications - 6+ years of Automated Testing frameworks experience. - Proficiency/Experience in testing tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, or Cucumber, is crucial for automating tests. - Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript to write and maintain test automation scripts. - Understanding different testing types (e.g., unit testing, integration testing, regression testing) is essential for designing effective test strategies. - A basic understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and coding practices is helpful for collaborating with development teams. - Effective communication is crucial for collaborating with development teams, reporting issues, and providing feedback. - The ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues during testing is essential for ensuring the quality of the software. - Experience debugging both front-end and backend applications, and understand payloads going back and forth. - You are highly analytical (Problem Solver). - Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment learning from experienced developers. - Start-up company experience preferred. - Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of developers, product managers, and system administrators. Requirements - Base Salary (Compensation): The annual Fixed salary for this position is between 20L - 25L depending upon experience + Variable.
