PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Work with business analysts and business users to gather and interpret business requirements for multiple financial and healthcare systems including large data warehouses. - Design and develop database applications using SQL Server Integration Services, TSQL, and Stored Procedures. - Consult with the business to determine the logical design for new business solutions according to existing data architecture. - Perform code reviews, analyze execution plans, and re-factor inefficient code. - Follow data standards, resolve data issues, complete unit testing, and complete system documentation for ETL processes. - Collaborate with business analysts, source system experts, and other team members to determine data extraction and transformation requirements. - Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain data processing systems and build scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory to extract, transform, and load structured as well as unstructured data. - Implement secure storage and access controls for sensitive data using Azure Key Vaults. - Leverage Azure Databricks for advanced analytics tasks including ETL jobs and machine learning workflows. - Utilize Spark fundamentals to optimize the performance of big data processing tasks. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. - Ensure data quality by implementing appropriate validation checks and error-handling mechanisms. - Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate data engineering processes into CI/CD pipelines. - Monitor the performance of data pipelines and troubleshoot any issues that arise. - Document technical specifications, processes, and best practices. - Utilize Azure Databricks, Azure DW, Python and Scripts. Qualifications - Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field. - Requires minimum 2 years of experience in a Data Engineer, Software Engineer or related position maintaining data processing systems and building scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory. - Experience must include: - Writing complex SQL queries to perform data extraction. - Troubleshooting issues in production in a timely fashion and working across teams of different skill levels. - Configuring and supporting managing ETL automation with SQL Server Integration Services. - Developing Spark applications for data extraction, transformation, and aggregation. - Utilizing Azure Functions, Azure Databricks, Azure DW, Python and Scripts. - Experience in technologies relevant to data/information management, such as SQL, RDBMS, Data Lake/Hadoop, MDM, Metadata, and Data Quality; working with clinical data. - Fully remote work permitted. • Will work on the installation, configuration, and upgrading of databases. • Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and recovery operations. • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance. • Work with senior administrators to fine-tune database parameters and queries. • Apply patches, updates, and upgrades to databases in a timely manner. • Implement and maintain database security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality. • Assist in setting up user accounts, roles, and permissions. • Perform regular database backups and ensure that backup and recovery procedures are in place and effective. • Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution. • Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changes. • Create and update operational manuals and troubleshooting guides. • Provide technical support for database-related issues. • Work with development and application teams to resolve database issues and improve system performance. • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours and weekend support. • Work closely with other IT staff, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to ensure seamless integration and operation of database systems. • Stay current with new database technologies and best practices. • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

• Develop overall product planning by contributing to/creating stories for complex features in areas of responsibility. • Organize, lead and finalize feature review sessions for complex business issues/requirements and document resulting decisions. • Create the functional design to address complex business processes or issues or to address the requirements of a set of product features. • Configure or develop within vendor software; review and verify operation of new vendor release features. • Provide training for other team members and users; assist in developing team bench strength. • Use knowledge of integrated requirements to evaluate proposed software products in line with strategic corporate and vendor direction. • Support the planning, conduct, and review of module and integration testing for all but the most complex projects. • Manage the issues and blockers for assigned features and product stories. • In partnership with the business groups and technical teams, provide knowledge and support for resolving technology issues in multiple areas of the business.
