Job Description Role Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Tax Analyst to support US indirect tax compliance, audit, and reporting activities. This role will play a critical part in managing sales & use tax compliance, month-end close processes, and supporting tax audits, while collaborating closely with global tax, finance, and accounting teams. Key Responsibilities 1. US Indirect Tax Compliance - Prepare and review US sales and use tax returns (monthly/quarterly/annual) across multiple jurisdictions - Manage tax data extraction, reconciliation, and validation from ERP systems - Ensure timely and accurate filing of returns and payments - Maintain tax calendars and compliance trackers - Support reconciliation of tax accounts and variance analysis 2. Month-End / Book Close Support - Perform month-end accruals and journal entries related to indirect taxes - Reconcile tax-related GL accounts (sales tax payable, accruals, etc.) - Support financial reporting and ensure compliance with accounting policies - Partner with accounting teams during close cycles to resolve discrepancies 3. Tax Audits & Notices - Support US state and local tax audits, including data gathering, documentation, and responses - Track audit progress and maintain audit logs - Assist in responding to tax authority notices, queries, and assessments - Collaborate with external advisors where required 4. Process Improvement & Automation - Identify opportunities to streamline compliance processes and improve controls - Support implementation or enhancement of tax technology tools (e.g., OneSource, Avalara, Alteryx, Claude etc.) - Develop and maintain SOPs and process documentation 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Tax, Accounting, IT, and Business teams to ensure accurate tax treatment - Provide tax support for business transactions and new initiatives - Assist in tax research on indirect tax matters as needed Qualifications Qualifications & Experience - Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry. - Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, CA/CPA (preferred but not mandatory) - 4-7 years of experience in US indirect tax (sales & use tax) - Prior experience in shared services / global capability center / Big 4 / multinational environment preferred Skills & Competencies - Strong understanding of US sales & use tax rules and compliance requirements - Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and tax engines (OneSource, Vertex, Avalara) is a plus - Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data reconciliation) - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail - Ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders - Good communication skills (written & verbal) with global teams Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) - Exposure to tax automation / analytics tools (Alteryx, Power BI) - Experience working on tax audits and controversy Basic understanding of US GAAP related to indirect tax accounting Additional Information Work Personas We approach our distributed world of work with flexibility and trust.
