• Own Traliant's handbook service • Create, review, revise and update employee handbooks • Provide guidance to clients on workplace policies • Create EEO policy and handbook reviews and meet with potential clients to discuss • Serve as the Legal Compliance subject matter expert (SME) for specific legal and compliance topics • As SME, take shared ownership of course creation • Draft, review, revise and update scripts for training content, from longer online courses to Tik Tok style micro trainings • Review pre-release course builds to flag edits and errors • Prepare or review materials to educate sales team members on course content and compliance requirements • Prepare or review content-related marketing materials like course pages, fact sheets and other resources, particularly as to legal compliance related elements • As SME, provide compliance guidance to clients, prospective clients and internal team members • As SME, create marketing content by drafting articles and preparing and presenting webinars on current legal topics

• Own and maintain employment templates, policies, and processes across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring Oyster's employment offering remains compliant, scalable, and operationally effective. • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments globally, assess their impact on Oyster's products and operations, and drive implementation of required changes. • Partner closely with Product, People team and other cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement compliant employment solutions that balance legal requirements with business objectives. • Advise on a broad range of employment law and compliance matters across the employee lifecycle, including hiring, compensation, leave, performance management, terminations. • Support strategic initiatives such as Direct Expansion, indirect-to-direct migrations, and the launch of new employment products and features. • Research complex employment law issues and translate legal analysis into clear, practical, and business-focused recommendations. • Develop and maintain employment guides, knowledge resources, and compliance documentation to support scalable operations across Oyster's global footprint. • Support labor inspections, audits, regulatory inquiries, and other employment compliance initiatives. • Use data, stakeholder feedback, and operational insights to identify risks, improve processes, and enhance the effectiveness of Oyster's employment compliance framework. • Identify and champion opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and process innovation to improve team efficiency, reduce manual work, and enable the scalable delivery of employment compliance and legal support. • Contribute to a highly collaborative, remote-first team culture and help drive continuous improvement across Employment Products.

• Act as a strategic legal advisor to executive leadership, proactively identifying risks and opportunities to support informed, high-impact decisions. • Assess UpGuard's current legal and compliance posture across key areas; identify gaps against applicable standards; and develop a sequenced, prioritised roadmap that reflects business risk, organisational capacity, and realistic timelines — then lead the company through the change required to close those gaps. • Lead and develop the in-house legal team, implementing scalable processes and metrics-driven practices to accelerate deals and reduce risk. • Build and execute a scalable compliance program covering data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), OFAC/trade compliance, anti-bribery, AI governance, and ethics — with particular emphasis on driving organisational alignment and adoption beyond policy creation. • Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks across the business, working cross-functionally to embed compliance awareness into day-to-day decision-making. • Manage corporate legal activities, including governance, equity administration, and any M&A or financing activity as it arises. • Advise People and Finance teams on employment law matters across UpGuard's global workforce, including hiring, employee relations, equity programs, and local labor law compliance. • Support board governance functions, including preparation of board materials, maintenance of corporate records, and management of director obligations across jurisdictions. • Provide strategic product counselling to product, engineering, and go-to-market teams, addressing legal issues and enabling compliant, successful product launches. • Direct intellectual property strategy, proactively protecting and managing UpGuard's trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets. • Advise on the legal and regulatory implications of AI-driven features, data handling practices, and cybersecurity product capabilities as the platform evolves.

• Conduct viability analyses of cases, identifying risks, opportunities, and the optimal social security strategy for each matter; • Draft initial social security pleadings for litigation; • Prepare judicial appeals; • Draft interim filings and motions; • Gradually assume additional responsibilities within the litigation practice, including participating in hearings and delivering oral arguments.
