Data Scientist

Jungle Scout

• Build real-time machine learning models utilizing very large datasets to deliver scalable solutions to customer problems • Partner with product managers, engineers, and designers to build and iterate on data-driven features • Drive data exploration and experimentation to identify new product opportunities using Amazon and e-commerce behavioral data • Design and run experiments to evaluate the impact of optimizations and communicate results to stakeholders • Establish scalable, efficient, and automated processes for large-scale data analysis, model development, and inference • Build scalable pipelines using Python, SQL, and AWS to operationalize insights • Define metrics, create dashboards, and monitor model performance in production • Champion best practices in model development, testing, and monitoring • Write production-ready code

Job Requirements

  • Experience conceptualizing, building, and deploying algorithms and models to production alongside machine learning engineers
  • Strong machine learning best practices with a solid statistical background
  • Technical proficiency in Python
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch
  • A strong command of SQL
  • Experience translating customer needs into data problems
  • Experience presenting clear analysis and conclusions to a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Deep curiosity about data and the Amazon domain
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity, making tradeoffs, and adjusting plans as you learn
  • Experience working in the software development lifecycle using version control, CI/CD, and multiple environments
  • Experience with Spark, SageMaker, S3
  • Experience with other AWS services like EC2, CloudWatch, Athena, Postgres, Docker
  • Proficiency in Jupyter notebooks
