Intern, Prevention

NASTAD

• Update NASTAD’s prevention-focused communication platforms such as the Prevention team’s microsite and the health department prevention directory. • Work directly with health department staff to collect important data. • Assist in the implementation of workplan activities, such as updating and maintaining prevention- and surveillance-focused directories and microsites, as well as promoting webinars, tools, and other resources to relevant stakeholders. • Strengthen HIV prevention and surveillance knowledge through cross-team collaboration. • Reinforce the progress of technical assistance activities by facilitating timely and effective communication with internal and external partners. • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Job Requirements

  • In process of receiving bachelor’s or master’s degree in public health, health science, or other relevant area of study
  • Some office experience (including volunteering) working within public health, health care or relevant fields preferred
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications as well as email marking tools such as MailChimp
  • Basic knowledge of HIV, STIs and/or other communicable disease, including stigma-related issues
