Database Technician – BES

• Maintain and implement one or more complex databases under the guidance of a lead. • Assist with planning and engineering of the organization's databases. • Monitor performance, scalability, and security. • Evaluate existing database design to determine necessary updates and integration requirements of a new design. • Ensure final solutions meet organizational needs. • Conduct routine database administration tasks. • Log data in database admin logs. • Operate under the supervision of a Database Administrator.
Job Requirements
- Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must Live in the US and have maintained a permanent residence in the US for at least the last 3 consecutive years (36 months)
- Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Experience with installation, maintenance, and administration of a Relational Database Management System (RDMS) such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server – Oracle preferred
- Ability to design and develop SQL queries and reports to retrieve required data under the guidance of a lead
- Experience working within a team-oriented, collaborative, agile environment.
- Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to manage multi-discipline triage calls.
- Familiarity with database partitioning and microservices
- Familiarity with Cloud-native database solutions, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) Relational Database Service (RDS) and DynamoDB
- Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle in a team-oriented, collaborative, agile environment.
- Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, GitHub, Jira
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to take direction
- A strong aptitude and enthusiasm for learning
