Corporate Development Associate
Synagro
• Assist with Synagro’s long term financial modeling in conjunction with corporate development, business development and finance. • Help build & maintain dynamic models for Synagro, and on specific M&A and investment opportunities, including sources and uses of capital, discounted cash flow, comparable companies, precedent transactions, accretion/dilution, and pre- and post-transaction scenarios • Support end-to-end M&A and investment processes, including financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and integration planning • Partner closely with business unit leaders and executive stakeholders to define inorganic growth priorities aligned with Synagro’s strategic objectives • Help coordinate cross-functional due diligence efforts with Finance, Legal, Operations, IT, HR, and external advisors • Support negotiation of transaction structures and key commercial terms in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, working closely with equity sponsors. • Prepare high-quality materials and recommendations for executive leadership, investment committees, and the Board of Directors • Partner with integration teams to support the development and execution of post-close integration plans • Assist in tracking integration milestones, synergy realization, and value delivery for completed transactions • Conduct post-close reviews to capture lessons learned and continuously improve M&A execution and integration playbooks
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or a related field
- Strong skills in financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis with excellent critical thinking skills
- Experience supporting acquisitions and minority investments from target sourcing through post-close integration
- Experience managing complex diligence processes and working with legal documentation and transaction structures
- Prior project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines
- Strong communication skills and professional maturity, with experience interacting with senior executives and boards
- Experience in industrial services, environmental services, infrastructure, energy, or related sectors preferred but not required.
- This position requires 10% travel.
