Irrigation Technical Services Representative I
Hunter Industries
• Ensure timely and accurate response to product and technical support inquiries for customers, sales and service personnel, and in-house personnel. • Respond to incoming customer irrigation questions and e-mails on the Company's technical support phone lines and website, including requests for product performance and specification information. • Assist in troubleshooting product problems, advise on product capabilities, and recommend proper replacement parts and repair procedures. • Record and categorize incoming questions by customer type, product type, and region, including follow-up. • Assist the Product Managers in special projects as directed by the Technical Services Supervisor. • Communicate regularly with Product Managers and provide information regarding product failures, technical information, and product quality. • Publish website support articles for Hunter products.
Job Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Landscape and Irrigation Design, Lighting Design or equivalent education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a customer service environment plus experience in the landscape irrigation, agricultural, landscape lighting, and/or wholesale distribution.
- In-depth knowledge of landscape and irrigation products in the industry.
- Knowledge of irrigation design and pumping system design.
- Strong mechanical and technical skills, including a working understanding of Wi-Fi systems and basic electrical principles.
- Excellent writing, listening and customer relations skills.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task and work within timelines.
- Problem solving skills including problem analysis, planning, and organizing, decisiveness, decision making, and judgment.
- Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment.
- Proficient computer skills including familiarity with the Internet and Windows programs to perform word processing and spreadsheet and database management.
- Ability to travel domestically.
- Ability to work overtime and/or weekend work when required.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to interact with members across the organization.
- Irrigation Association certification and water auditor training preferred.
- Knowledge of competitor products preferred.
- Fluency in a foreign language is preferred.

• Identify, research, and secure required permits for utility, transmission, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects • Coordinate with cities, counties, DOT, railroads, and other agencies to track and obtain permit approvals • Interpret and review engineering drawings, survey documents, and route maps to determine permit requirements • Ensure compliance with permit requirements, including, but not limited to, insurance, bonds, and safety standards • Prepare and submit permit applications, supporting documents, and reports • Track permit status and maintain accurate records in project systems (SharePoint/Project Databases) • Collaborate with Land Agents, Project Managers, and contractors to align permitting with ROW acquisition and construction schedules • Serve as point of contact with agencies and stakeholders regarding permit status, requirements, and compliance • Support project risk mitigation by proactively identifying potential permitting delays and recommending solutions
