Role Description CannonDesign has an exciting opportunity for a firm-wide Climate + Resilience Leader. We’re looking for creative, curious, empathetic people to join our Living-Centered Design movement. Here's What You'll Do - Lead our emerging climate + resilience services, partnering with firm-wide design and technical leadership as an integral part of project teams across the firm. - Mentor, manage and grow our internal climate + resilience services as a subject matter expert to assist design teams across the firm to deliver healthy environment solutions. - Integrate climate + resilience strategies into the building design process across the firm. - Oversee the delivery of master planning efforts related to sustainability, resilience, climate action, and decarbonization. - Guide delivery of visually appealing graphical representations of climate + resilience strategies. - Lead research into GHG emissions reduction, climate adaptation, and resilient design workflows and software. - Identify new and emerging climate + resilience approaches and trends that support successful delivery of services to clients and internal programs. - Lead clients in visioning sustainability, resilience, climate action, and decarbonization programs at various scales. - Be a trusted source for climate + resilience solutions for internal client leaders and teams in other sectors and markets within the firm. - Lead case studies, whitepapers, and other materials to present findings and recommendations internally and externally. - Represent the firm at external events and conferences as opportunities arise. - Create narratives, approaches, and fees for project proposals. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related field; Masters or advanced coursework preferred. - Minimum of 12 years of leading, managing and delivering climate and resilience-focused analysis and planning at the building, campus, and regional scale. - One or more credentials such as LEED, LFA, CPHC, WELL, BREAM, Fitwell, Green Globes, WEDG, SITES AP or similar required. - PE, Registered architect/licensed architect, or NCIDQ preferred. - Deep expertise in climate risk assessment and resilient design strategies. - Deep experience in greenhouse gas emissions assessment and reduction strategies at the building, campus, and regional scale. - Familiarity with building standards including LEED, LBC, WELL, etc. - Familiarity with ESG reporting structure and guidelines relevant to corporate, institutional, and municipal client types. - Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills are essential. - This position may require travel to other CannonDesign offices as well as client locations. Requirements - The salary range for this position is $117,000 to $146,300 annually. - Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and a full benefit package including medical, dental and vision coverage, flexible spending account options, and voluntary insurances. - Paid time off, flex-time schedules, remote work options, and a 401k plan are available. • Partner with process owners across each business area to assess risk, build controls, and drive remediation • Own and Manage the incident management process, using customer complaints and operational reviews as signals for emerging risk • Create and deliver executive-level risk reporting for senior leadership • Build and lead the team • Work across Legal, Risk, and Compliance to ensure accountability is clearly defined and executed

• Ensure performance of assigned reviews with high quality, on-time results with more complex analyses or deeper root cause analyses to connect related signal to risks. • Provide training and guidance to junior team members. • Project leadership activities include: Independently lead the design and setup of study specific tools and centralized monitoring plan for data review; manage review timelines, develop analysis assignments for team, and support budget management; organizs, communicate with internal team, and delegate as appropriate to ensure reviews are completed on-time, on budget, with high quality; lead report development, deliver reports, and lead centralized monitoring meetings; contribute to risk assessment through the completion of the department risk assessment tools. • Participate in the cross-functional risk assessment review meetings and contribute to overall risk planning. • Continuously monitors study activities for risk mitigation effectiveness, reports findings to project team, and facilitates periodic risk review meetings. • Develops synergistic relationships with study functional teams and clients to build productive working relationships.
