The Role The Senior Paid Social Strategist’s key role is to achieve agency client goals through the execution of social PPC strategies and to be a technical and strategic resource for agency clients and team members. The Senior Paid Social Strategist is responsible for managing and executing social PPC work for a set of strategic agency client accounts. Agency experience required. As a Senior Paid Social Strategist, it is imperative that this team member is able to establish themself as a business partner to the agency clients. This means providing guidance on strategies while acting as a leader and listener who knows how to best support solutions with the agency’s service offerings and network. Identifying and implementing thoughtful strategies and bringing forward-thinking ideas to the table with passion is key to developing agency client success and happiness. The Senior Paid Social Strategist needs to be a thought leader for the agency and participate in the greater marketing community by blogging, interacting on social channels, and attending conferences. They will also assist with the sales process by reviewing social ad accounts and making recommendations and participating in meetings. They will also assist with research and development of existing or new social PPC tools or processes to improve the paid team. Responsibilities Paid Platforms and Services - Actively researches and recommends new social platforms and strategies for the agency clients as well as the department. - Recommend new service models, concepts, and offerings. - Identifies when other agency department services could add value to the agency client’s results and coordinates with the Paid Services Director. Client Results and Status - Determine when spending should be adjusted and on which platforms and campaigns. - Ensures that agency clients’ results are being achieved and assists in making changes when results are not being achieved. - Makes recommendations to current agency client strategies/deliverables that will improve overall results/performance and agency client relationships. - Knows the agency client’s personal goals and what drives their decisions. - Assures agency client hours/story points/resources are sufficient and determines the best course of action for increasing resources and/or adjusting expectations. Technology - Identify social marketing tools that could benefit the team. - Work with other team members to ensure the successful implementation of tools that are needed to achieve agency client goals. - Training the team on the tools to be used to achieve agency client goals. Workload and Planning - Plan out tasks to clearly focus on agency client goals and prioritize workload based on allotted resources and their greatest impact on agency client results. - Translate top-level strategy into tasks with clear direction to implement effectively. - Works with team members to ensure they are confident that the work assigned can be completed on-time and to the agency’s expectations. - Create checklists and define what “done” looks like for tasks so that others clearly understand what’s expected of them when implementing work. - Helps develop sales presentations and takes part in sales meetings and acts as a sales engineer when needed. - Monitor resources worked against total assigned for all agency clients and tasks. - Notifies the management when resources are not sufficient to complete all desired work. - Works with management to help define and discuss team goals, capacity, and process. Requirements To qualify for the Senior Paid Social Strategist position, a team member needs to have the following qualifications: - Agency experience required. - Minimum of 5 years of industry experience. - Current knowledge of the eCommerce or paid social industry and trends. - Demonstrates a willingness and ability to communicate openly, directly, and professionally with agency clients, the department, cross-teams, and the agency's leadership team. - Demonstrates self-awareness and situational awareness, with the ability to read the room, lead others, and listen actively. - Data analysis - Ability to drive action and make recommendations based on data. - Experience with agency client reporting that demonstrates the relationship between effort and results. - Familiarity with different approaches to account structure (and knowing when to use one vs. another). - Basic knowledge of website structure, URL structure, and implementation of popular tracking/phone call/remarketing/other pixel code snippets. - Copywriting skills, especially as it relates to ad copy, landing page content, and website goals. - Experience managing multiple agency clients and prioritizing to complete projects successfully and on time. - Demonstrates ability to quickly learn the agency client's business and revenue models in order to align marketing strategies to impact the agency client's bottom line. - Proven track record for managing campaigns to achieve agency client goals. - Experience creating omnichannel marketing strategies and coordinating with various teams to implement. - Demonstrates the ability and willingness to resolve agency client issues quickly and professionally. - Demonstrates a commitment to identifying and meeting agency client goals. Technical Skills - Social media platform expertise—Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Reddit. - Advanced copywriting skills, especially as it relates to ad copy, landing page content, and website goals. - Advanced knowledge of the Facebook Pixel and custom events. - In-depth knowledge of Facebook and Google Analytics attribution models. - Facebook catalog experience relating to data sources and campaign implementation. - Experience with reporting tools such as Supermetrics and Google Data Studio. - Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide actionable insights for internal team members and agency clients. - Thorough knowledge of privacy laws relating to ad blockers, CCPA, and GDPR. - Advanced Excel/Google Sheets knowledge (tables, data manipulation formulas such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables). - A good understanding of split testing and other ways to optimize CTR, CPA, and ROAS. - Facebook or Instagram certification, Blueprint certification, and additional social certifications as they become available.
