The Role The Senior Tax Analyst will support the domestic tax operations of Veeva and will serve as the primary preparer of the income tax provision, coordinate income tax compliance workflows with external partners, and take full ownership of the internal and external information request processes. Additionally, the candidate will drive non-income tax compliance and support tax account reconciliations. What You’ll Do - Prepare quarterly and annual global ASC 740 tax provision, ensuring accuracy and compliance. - Execute calculations for tax implications related to ASC 718 Stock-Based Compensation, 162(m), and other tax provision components. - Support tax accounting control compliance under Sarbanes-Oxley. - Own the internal and external information request process for tax provision, compliance, and audits. - Execute detailed reviews of income tax return workpapers and returns prepared by external service providers, including verifying book/tax differences, state apportionment, and required disclosures. - Coordinate the compliance timeline and execute a detailed review of all corporate income tax extensions and quarterly estimated tax workpapers prepared by external service providers. - Share operational responsibility for the accurate, timely calculation and processing of related tax payments to guarantee zero late or missed filings and payments. - Drive the non-income tax operational pipeline, ensuring accurate, timely filing of federal and state and local business licenses, gross receipts, and payments with zero missed deadlines. - Draft initial responses to federal and state notices, tax audits, and compile required documentation to support inquiries from authorities. - Prepare monthly general ledger tax account reconciliations and necessary journal entries. - Conduct research and provide insightful analysis on tax implications of specific transactions. Requirements - 3+ years of hands-on experience in federal and state income tax compliance and reporting, including a minimum of 2 years in a CPA firm. - Foundational preparation expertise in ASC 740 tax provision models. - A sharp analytical mindset with a knack for problem-solving. - Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines. - Proficient in Excel. Nice to Have - A degree in Finance or Accounting (B.S./B.A.). - CPA License or a Master’s in Taxation. - Experience with Big 4 firms or in a multinational corporate setting. - Previous exposure to Netsuite. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location.
