Role Description We are seeking a Cloud Architect (Multi-Cloud) to design strategies, reference architectures, and platform capabilities that span multiple cloud providers — AWS, Azure, GCP, and selectively OCI — for enterprises operating on more than one cloud by deliberate choice. The role focuses on portability, abstraction layers, federated identity, cross-cloud networking, and platform offerings that hide cloud-specific complexity from product teams. The ideal candidate has architected meaningful multi-cloud capabilities, understands the trade-offs between portability and cloud-native depth, and brings strong opinions grounded in production experience. Key Responsibilities - Define multi-cloud strategy, target-state architecture, and adoption guardrails across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI as relevant. - Design federated identity, SSO, and cross-cloud authorization patterns that let workloads and engineers move between providers without compromising on least-privilege, auditability, or operational simplicity. - Architect cross-cloud networking including transit hubs, private connectivity, and zero-trust patterns. - Establish reusable infrastructure-as-code patterns that abstract cloud-specific implementations where appropriate. - Define container, Kubernetes, and serverless strategies that work consistently across providers. - Design data architecture strategies for cross-cloud data movement, residency, and analytics. - Drive multi-cloud observability, security monitoring, and unified policy enforcement, designing approaches that work consistently across providers and avoid the complexity of fragmented per-cloud tooling stacks. - Establish FinOps practices that operate consistently across multiple cloud providers. - Lead disaster recovery and business continuity strategies that span clouds. - Partner with security architects on multi-cloud security models, KMS strategies, and key management. - Provide guidance to engineering teams on when to use cloud-agnostic versus cloud-native patterns. - Produce high-quality architecture artifacts — context diagrams, sequence diagrams, decision records, and reference designs — that capture key technical decisions clearly enough to be understood months or years later. - Engage with cloud providers and partners to evaluate roadmap alignment. - Stay current with multi-cloud platform and tooling developments, regularly review release notes and community discussions, and translate noteworthy advances into concrete recommendations and adoption proposals for the team. Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. - Eight or more years of experience in cloud architecture roles. - Hands-on architecture experience across at least two major cloud providers. - Deep understanding of cloud networking, identity, and security across multiple providers. - Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code across clouds. - Experience designing federated identity and SSO across cloud platforms. - Solid understanding of Kubernetes, container platforms, and managed cloud services. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Multiple cloud certifications across providers. - Track record of leading multi-cloud architecture initiatives. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with abstraction platforms (Crossplane, Pulumi, Terraform CDK). - Familiarity with cloud-agnostic observability platforms. - Experience driving large-scale cloud-to-cloud migrations. - Exposure to regulated industries with multi-cloud mandates. - Public talks or writing on multi-cloud architecture. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge of OCI services with strong DevOps and automation fundamentals, and will partner with database, application, and security teams to deliver well-engineered cloud platforms that support mission-critical Oracle and non-Oracle workloads. Key Responsibilities - Architect, deploy, and operate enterprise-grade OCI landing zones, compartments, and tenancy structures aligned with internal governance and compliance standards. - Design and implement OCI networking topologies, including VCNs, subnets, gateways, FastConnect, IPSec VPN, and DRG-based hub-and-spoke architectures. - Build and maintain OCI infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and OCI Resource Manager, with version control, peer review, and automated validation. - Implement IAM policies, federation with corporate identity providers, and strong RBAC patterns using OCI Identity Domains. - Design and operate OCI compute (VMs, bare-metal, OKE for Kubernetes) and storage services (Object, Block, File, Archive) optimized for workload patterns. - Operate OCI database services, including Autonomous Database, Exadata Cloud, MySQL HeatWave, and Base Database, in close partnership with DBA teams. - Build CI/CD pipelines on OCI DevOps service or external platforms (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for both infrastructure and applications. - Implement observability using OCI Monitoring, Logging, APM, and integrations with third-party observability stacks. - Drive ongoing cost optimization through right-sizing, lifecycle management, and architectural simplification. - Design disaster-recovery and business-continuity solutions across OCI regions and availability domains. - Strengthen security posture using OCI Cloud Guard, Security Zones, Vault, and Data Safe, and lead remediation of findings. - Advise application development teams on OCI-native design patterns and best practices. - Develop automation tooling in Python, Bash, and Terraform to reduce operational toil. - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal cloud communities of practice.
