• The Cloud Engineer is a senior technical role responsible for architecting, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure supporting U.S. Army IT managed services. • This position bridges legacy on-premises environments with modern cloud-native architectures, ensuring secure, resilient, and cost-effective operations across a hybrid IT landscape. • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on FedRAMP-authorized platforms (AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Azure Government, Google Cloud for Government) supporting Army workloads. • Lead technical execution of cloud migration efforts including workload assessment, lift-and-shift operations, re-platforming, and cloud-native refactoring. • Support on-premises infrastructure environments including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) as part of hybrid cloud operations. • Develop and enforce cloud governance policies covering IAM, resource provisioning guardrails, tagging standards, and cost controls. • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, or equivalent tools to automate provisioning and configuration management. • Maintain high availability, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity plans (BCP) for both cloud and data center environments. • Oversee hybrid network connectivity including SD-WAN, AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, and VPN solutions between on-premises and cloud environments. • Monitor infrastructure performance and security posture using tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Splunk, or similar SIEM/observability platforms. • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement NIST 800-53 controls, continuous monitoring (ConMon), RMF processes, and FedRAMP compliance requirements. • Support FinOps practices including cloud cost analysis, rightsizing recommendations, and budget reporting for reimbursable IT programs. • Provide technical documentation including architecture diagrams, runbooks, migration playbooks, and system security plans (SSPs). • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to workforce upskilling as the organization transitions to cloud-first operations.

• Design, implement, and sustain enterprise network architectures across on-premises, hybrid, AWS, and Azure cloud environments • Lead network engineering efforts through the full system lifecycle, including planning, design, implementation, testing, deployment, accreditation, and sustainment • Serve as the senior technical authority (SME) for routing, switching, network security, secure communications, firewall architecture, and cloud networking design • Engineer and maintain AWS and Azure cloud networking components, including VPCs, VNets, subnets, route tables, transit gateways, virtual WAN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, VPN gateways, peering, private endpoints, security groups, NSGs, load balancers, DNS services, NAT gateways, and hybrid interconnections • Develop and enforce network standards, security baselines, firewall policies, segmentation strategies, access control requirements, and cloud network governance • Ensure compliance with DoW cybersecurity requirements, including RMF, NIST 800-53, STIGs, CMMC, and Army 8140 requirements for privileged administrative access • Analyze, document, and optimize end-to-end traffic flows across enterprise, tactical, and cloud environments to ensure secure routing, performance, resiliency, and mission effectiveness • Provide technical oversight for DevSecOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementations supporting network automation and cloud network provisioning • Lead advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex network, firewall, routing, latency, packet loss, and connectivity issues across multi-domain environments • Support Authority to Operate (ATO) activities, including documentation, testing, remediation, and security validation

Role Description The Linux engineering team are responsible for Tradeweb’s Linux runtime environment. As a member of this global team, you will play a vital part in the strategy and operations of the firm. You will be heavily involved in the hardening of the OS, development and running of deployment tooling, and optimization of the platform for a low latency environment. In addition, you will also be asked to plan and execute the provisioning of new installations and the upgrades/patches of current deployments. Job Responsibilities - Designing and implementing system architecture and operational duties for the firm’s Linux platform across all business lines. - Take part in regular patching of the Linux environment. - Help drive efforts to further automate systems builds and patching. - Automate deployment and routine maintenance of the environment using pipelines. - Build and deploy infrastructure, security and application monitoring tooling. - Work closely with the InfoSec team to provide detailed and actionable system logs to the SOC. - Define and monitor system SLA, build alarming and escalation procedures. - Aid application teams to debug performance/availability issues and provide subject matter expertise to application support teams. - Participate in an on-call rotation to support your environment. - Perform detailed root cause analysis and write clear and detailed postmortem reports including suggested long-term mitigation and remediation projects. - Proactively monitor utilization and performance and recommend capacity management strategies. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience). - 10+ years of professional experience in Linux-based roles, with demonstrated expertise in supporting, administering, and maintaining Linux operating systems in enterprise environments. - Very strong knowledge of the Linux platform, including regular system administration, kernel optimization, OS hardening and the Linux networking stack. - Experience managing thousands of Linux hosts in on-prem environment. - Strong familiarization with RHEL is a plus. - Strong written and oral communication skills. - Good understanding with various storage technologies and SAN/NAS protocols. - Demonstrated experience debugging OS issues in a complex business environment. - Experience with one or more virtualization environment in a production setting. - Strong sense of system hygiene and attention to detail, focused on driving projects to completion. - Strong proclivity for automation, including demonstrated experience building automated deployment tooling for Linux using Ansible or similar tools. - Experience managing Kubernetes. - AWS cloud experience with EC2, EKS, VPC, IAM, S3, Glacier is a plus. - Demonstrated coding ability in system automation, preferred languages Python and bash. - Experience in a low-latency environment is a plus, e.g. Solarflare or OpenOnload. - Experience deploying and managing several infrastructure and application monitoring tools and using those tools to make data driven operational decisions.
