Role Description We are looking for an Automation Quality Engineer to join a team building an AI-powered platform designed to streamline administrative workflows and enable customers to focus on learner engagement and business outcomes. In this role, you will contribute to the quality strategy of a modern software product by: - Designing and maintaining scalable test automation solutions - Improving QA processes - Ensuring high standards across the application stack You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive quality initiatives and support the delivery of reliable, user-focused solutions. Qualifications - Strong experience in test automation and quality engineering - Excellent communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset - Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective testing strategies - Experience building and maintaining scalable, reusable, and maintainable automation frameworks - Solid understanding of API, database, and UI testing - Ability to review requirements and technical designs and identify potential risks, gaps, and edge cases before implementation - Curiosity, willingness to challenge assumptions, and confidence to raise concerns when needed - Ability to receive feedback constructively and continuously improve ways of working - Interest in leveraging AI technologies to enhance daily QA activities and testing processes - Nice-to-have skills: - Experience working with AI-powered products or platforms - Familiarity with modern software development and Agile delivery practices - Experience driving quality initiatives across teams and influencing quality standards Requirements - Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks with a strong focus on reusability, maintainability, and reliability - Design and execute automated tests across API, database, and UI layers - Review business requirements and technical designs to identify logical gaps and quality risks early in the development lifecycle - Drive quality initiatives from conception to completion with minimal supervision - Collaborate closely with engineers, product stakeholders, and other team members to ensure high product quality - Continuously improve QA processes, automation coverage, and overall testing effectiveness - Explore and utilize AI-powered tools and technologies to enhance quality engineering practices Benefits At Avenga, everyone matters. • You design, set up and continuously develop test automation frameworks (e.g., Robot Framework, API testing, Python). • You integrate automated tests seamlessly into existing CI/CD pipelines. • You evaluate test results and actively contribute to root-cause analysis and bug fixing. • You build and maintain comprehensive test documentation — from test cases and test plans to traceability matrices. • You perform exploratory and regression testing to ensure quality for releases and changes. • You actively participate in sprint planning by providing informed test estimates and risk assessments. • You drive a quality-focused culture through continuous testing and targeted expansion of automation coverage.

• Guide and mentor internationally distributed teams of cross-functional Quality professionals • Coordinate multiple test projects in partnership with project managers and other stakeholders • Design, document, execute, and automate tests critical to ensuring stability and successful functioning of products

• Own quality and be the last gate. Nothing ships to production without your sign-off. • Escalate early when timelines compress. • Own manual testing & UAT. Exploratory, functional, regression and user-acceptance testing — the human eyes before customers see it. • Maintain the Gherkin scenarios. The living source of truth for how the product should behave; review the test cases AI generates for correctness. • Operate the automated testing, don't hand-crank it. Direct AI to implement and run Playwright/E2E and API tests; judge by results and keep the suite trustworthy and green. • Sign off every release. Run regression, give the go/no-go, post the release notes (AI drafts, you own them). • Be the first line of defense for production. Validate, reproduce and route customer-reported issues fast, with AI. • Triage results. Real bug vs. flake, root cause (with AI + Datadog/Sentry), surface only what needs a human call. • Continuously automate your own work with AI. If you've done it manually twice, make AI do it the third time. Prove it with evidence. • Clear bug reports with root cause, regression checklists, screenshots, logs and recordings — tests are the documentation. • Be the product's second brain. Learn the product and users deeply; turn that into the right scenarios and the right questions.
