RTX Corporation is a leading multinational aerospace and defense company that is looking for an Manager, Property Tax. The Corporate Tax Dept is responsible for managing all aspects of U.S. property tax compliance for multiple legal entities. What You Will Do - Prepare, review and approve property tax returns including Freeport Exemptions and Tax Abatements, business personal property valuations and property tax bills - Prepare, review property tax assessments, file appeals and defend tax filing positions at appeal hearings. - Review and approve property tax accrual account reconciliations (SAP) - Work with external consultants on business personal property compliance matters - Manage property tax process standardization and documentation - Develop and train personal property compliance staff - Travel to major RTX sites to meet with finance teams to facilitate onsite training of property taxability issues and reporting requirements - Analyze complex assessment reviews and communicate with jurisdictions and/or challenge assessments in a well-thought-out manner, both formally and informally - Perform research and analysis relating to technical and procedural positions for property tax matters Qualifications You Must Have - Typically requires a University degree in Accounting, Finance or Tax and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience in business personal property tax compliance, audit, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience - Candidate must have strong knowledge of multi-state tax regulations and possess a comprehensive understanding of the property tax compliance function - Ability to lead and develop a team of tax professionals in a fast-paced environment - CMI, CPA, MAI or other similar accreditation desired - Ability to travel as necessary (10-15%) - Experience with Property Tax Management Software "PTMS" is required - Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint - Prior leadership experience managing a team Qualifications We Prefer - Candidate must have the ability to independently manage multiple projects and be able to prioritize and complete competing tasks in a timely and efficient manner - The ideal candidate is pro-active with excellent verbal/written communication, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills - Experience with ERP systems. The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
