Role Description Primary responsibility will be to code professional components for all diagnostic imaging modalities in the Radiology Department. - Provide feedback, education and training to teammates, vendors and occasionally providers regarding clinical documentation. - Provide real-time feedback to leadership as it pertains to proper coding and clinical documentation of services performed. - Engage in provider/department contact and education as the primary liaison for clarification of documentation and coding for radiological procedures including documentation deficiencies. - Focus their work on radiological procedures as well as being an immediate liaison to documentation improvement and optimization of physician coding practices for compliance and revenue purposes. Qualifications - Must Have Experience Coding Diagnostic Radiology and the ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities. - Ability to interact and communicate effectively with Radiology staff. - 2+ years of coding and abstracting experience with CPT and ICD-10 preferred. - Certification through the American Health Information Management Technician (AHIMA) as one of the following: Registered Health Information Management Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Management Technician (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P), or certified through the American Association of Procedural Coders (AAPC) as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC). - Experience and proficiency in Radiology coding required.
