Associate EDI Developer

Aptean

Role Description We’re looking for an Associate EDI Developer for our remote US team. This is a full-time position. You’ll join a collaborative Technology team supporting the development and enhancement of Aptean’s EDI translation application and integration solutions. As an Associate EDI Developer, you will play a key role in supporting the development and maintenance of Aptean’s EDI translation application. This position combines hands-on application development with exposure to integration technologies, allowing you to build a strong foundation in EDI and enterprise data exchange. You’ll work closely with senior developers and technical leads to build, enhance, and troubleshoot EDI mappings and integrations, ensuring seamless data flow between systems. This includes supporting common EDI standards such as X12 and EDIFACT while developing solutions that enable customers to automate critical business processes across supply chain and trading partner networks. In addition to development work, you will help identify and resolve technical issues, contribute to documentation, and participate in testing and continuous improvement efforts. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn new technologies—including working within an AI-augmented development environment where tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar accelerate development workflows. Qualifications - 0–3 years of experience in software development or integration-focused roles. - Experience with or exposure to programming languages such as C#, .NET, Python, or similar. - Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases. - Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar) and familiarity with LLMs or code generation models. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Ability to learn new technologies and EDI concepts quickly. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - A proactive mindset and willingness to collaborate in a team environment. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Requirements - Familiarity with EDI concepts such as trading partner onboarding, EDI map development, and common transaction sets (e.g., 850, 856, 810, 997). - Experience with EDI translation or integration tools such as Gentran, Cleo, TrueCommerce, or similar platforms. - Exposure to B2B SaaS, supply chain, or logistics-related domains. - Experience working with APIs, file-based integrations, or data transformation tools. - Exposure to Agile development methodologies and best practices.
