This position works with a broad and growing array of technology and has a deep understanding of learning design in order to serve as online pedagogy subject matter expert, project manager, and coach for Husson Online and Distance Education. This position makes data-informed decisions to create meaningful, measurable, and observable student-learning experiences and improve course quality. The Instructional Designer collaborates with university partners to ensure universally-designed, human-centered learning experiences that meet university standards. This position may qualify for remote work. Example of Duties - Serve as instructional design expert to consult and assist with course developments and course maintenance. - Oversee all phases of design processes, aligning instructional content to learning outcomes, while creating human-centered and engaging learning experiences. - Apply principles of instructional design and adult learning theories to the design and development of online learning experiences. - Coach subject matter experts to design and develop high quality, innovative online courses. - Apply flexibility, understanding, and support to complicated course designs with multiple parties. - Facilitate and coordinate administrative aspects of project development, delivery, and support. - Evaluate course quality in terms of design, writing, and editing. - Communicate knowledge and application of effective pedagogy and use of academic technologies. - Design content in Canvas and integrate current educational technologies to promote effective teaching strategies and to improve student-learning experiences. - Develop online instructor and student support materials, tutorials, orientations, and workshops, as needed. - Lead conversations with faculty and leadership on the process of instructional design in teaching, research, and creative works. - Remain current and have a thorough understanding of the latest industry technology tools and trends in online education. - Work with Instructional Technology staff to evaluate, test, and propose new academic and learning technologies. Qualifications Education: - Master’s degree required; Master’s degree in Instructional Design or Education preferred. - Expertise in universal design and ADA compliance preferred. - Expertise in media or graphic design preferred. Experience: - Minimum of one year working as an instructional designer. - One to three years of relevant experience. Supplemental Information Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: - Experience in leading and managing multiple, complex projects, and the ability to schedule, prioritize and meet varied deadlines across these projects. - Experience successfully working collaboratively on a project with multiple collaborators. - Strong research, writing, copyediting, and content finishing skills. - Ability to work both independently and within a team. - Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal and presentation skills, while working with diverse content and populations. - Proven ability to stay current with rapidly changing technologies. - Ability and willingness to work with partners from diverse political/socioeconomic backgrounds and a wide range of physical and academic abilities. - Proven knowledge of promising practices of instructional design, and procedures used in the design, development, and evaluation of online courses. - Proven knowledge of technology to enhance the online learning experience. - Experience with graphic design and media elements appropriate for online instruction. - Experience in asynchronous online classroom teaching or workshop facilitation. - Knowledge of Quality Matters, Online Learning Consortium and similar online learning rubrics. - Familiarity with Universal Design and other accessibility principles to ensure course content is accessible to all learners. - Proven ability to work effectively and communicate with subject matter experts, partners, users, and media developers. - Demonstrated competence in working with learning management systems, such as Canvas.

Role Description This is a fully remote full-time (9-month) ranked faculty position in the Husson University School of Nursing as an MSN faculty member and PMHNP track coordinator. A stipend will be given for coordination for the summer semester to provide consistent track supervision. The faculty member will have administrative oversight of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) track within the MSN Program. The PMHNP Track Coordinator collaborates with the MSN Director, Chief Nurse Administrator, faculty, preceptors, other MSN track coordinators, the online Division, and the graduate clinical coordinator to ensure academic and nurse practitioner practice standards are maintained within the track. Participation in program accreditation evaluation processes and program activities such as graduation and pinning ceremonies may require the track coordinator to come to campus. The primary responsibilities of this position include: - Teaching and developing online courses within the PMHNP track and MSN core curriculum. - Fulfilling faculty expectations for participation in departmental service and appropriate scholarship. Qualifications - Earned Doctorate in Nursing or related field required; Candidates nearing completion of their doctoral degree will be considered. - Active unencumbered United States RN licensure. - Active unencumbered United States advanced practice (nurse practitioner) licensure in specialty area. - Willing to obtain license in states to supervise out of state students. - Minimum of three-five years of documented college/university-level teaching preferred. - Minimum of three-five years of clinical experience preferred. - Documented clinical advanced practice expertise in area(s) of teaching responsibility. Requirements - Teaching responsibility for eighteen credit hours per calendar year within the PMHNP area of specialty. - A course release of one course will be given to allow time for track supervision. - Ensure that the PMHNP track aligns with academic and clinical practice in the given area. - Provide consultation and oversight of the delivery of the prescribed curriculum for all faculty teaching in the track. - Assist the faculty with student issues/concerns related to student performance in the track specialty. - Work with the MSN Director to revise and deliver the curriculum, make practice recommendations, and remain up to date with track standards and credentialing. - Work with the clinical coordinator to ensure that clinical sites meet the program objectives and assist with hiring of adjunct faculty. - Serve as a positive professional role model for students, assisting in their professional/social development. - Serve as an informal leader, mentor, and role model for other faculty and staff fostering mutual respect for others. - Mentor new faculty members. - Maintain currency within professional areas of expertise and participate in scholarly activities as defined by the Faculty Handbook. - Negotiate up to one day per work week for professional consultation, research, or clinical practice to maintain active nurse practitioner licensure. - Actively participate in MSN program and school meetings, development days, and activities. - Service on School, College, and/or University committees as appointed by the Dean of the College. - Maintain student office hours and advise nursing students each year, as assigned, following the policies and procedures documented in the Husson Faculty Advising Manual. - Maintain confidentiality of sensitive or privileged information. - Communicate with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner. - Achieve, maintain proficiency in, and utilize computers and software (i.e. canvas, Exaat). - Communicate regularly via email with students, staff, and faculty. - Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
