JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Penn State Athletics, Adaptive Athletics is looking for part-time assistants. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: *Assist with carrying out practices both on the track and in the weight room * Includes timing and/or recording data from the workouts * Oversees the maintenance of the wheelchair racers. Includes minor repairs, adjusting the compensators, tire maintenance, and monitoring the wear and tear of the adaptive racing gloves. Knowledge and ability to make these gloves (3D printing) is preferred but not expected. * Assist with travel. This includes but is not limited to providing rides, packaging and preparing racers for airport security, and overseeing equipment during trips. * Must be available for practice Monday-Friday (flexible hours, approximately 4-10 hours per week) * Must be willing to travel to competition sites. Approximately 6-8 trips, April-August. *Knowledge and experience in training/coaching sprinters and long jumpers. * Experience with coaching adaptive student-athletes is highly preferred but not necessary. * Must be able to set up and oversee practice plans for the adaptive student-athletes according to their disability. BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
