Role Description Arxada has an exciting opportunity for a Toxicologist to join our Toxicology and Environmental Sciences team. The role can be based in Manchester (UK), Barcelona (Spain), or possibly at our offices in Delft (NL), Hannover (DE), or Warsaw (PL). For an experienced candidate, we would additionally consider a virtual office set-up. This is a highly visible role in our Toxicology and Environmental Sciences team, combining scientific expertise, project coordination, and strategic influence in a fast-paced matrix organization. The Toxicologist will: - Act as both a thought partner and a hands-on contributor. - Work at the interface of technical, regulatory, commercial, and product teams. - Engage with external stakeholders such as regulatory authorities, consultants, and industry associations. - Deliver business results by ensuring that products meet internal standards and relevant regulatory requirements. - Bring curiosity, drive, and strong technical insight to projects. - Guide regulatory colleagues and business partners, identify data gaps early, and shape product strategies. - Respond confidently to regulatory risk assessment requests. Essential Job Functions: - Provide scientific leadership on human health exposure and risk assessment topics across the Arxada portfolio. - Design, interpret and monitor toxicology and exposure-related studies. - Scope, author and present scientifically robust risk assessments. - Identify data gaps early and develop practical recommendations. - Collaborate across a fast-paced matrix organization. - Represent Arxada’s scientific positions in interactions with external stakeholders. - Contribute flexibly to broader Toxicology and Environmental Sciences team priorities. Qualifications - Post graduate qualification and 3+ years industrial experience or degree level and 5+ years industrial experience with at least 3+ years in risk assessment for biocides or chemicals. - Degree in Toxicology or related natural sciences. - Strong mathematical/quantitative reasoning skills. - Training in statistics and experience programming equations in Excel are an advantage. - Training or work experience in toxicology, chemistry, and/or exposure assessment. - Team player with ‘can do’-mentality. - A strong communicator, who is flexible and self-starting with proven project management and project coordination skills.
