• Support the implementation of FFCP’s forest carbon accounting and monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) systems • Contribute to forest carbon quantification, modeling, and statistical analyses that support carbon credit issuance and verification activities • Perform detailed technical analyses and documentation in collaboration with senior technical staff and cross-functional teams • Support interactions with validation and verification bodies (VVBs), standards, and technical consultants as needed
Job Requirements
- Degree in forestry, forest biometrics, ecology, environmental science, statistics, or a closely related field
- 3-5 years of professional experience in forest carbon, MRV, forest inventory, or applied environmental modeling
- Demonstrated experience supporting carbon accounting under standards and interacting with third-party verifiers
- Strong knowledge of forest carbon pools, GHG accounting principles, and statistical analysis
- Strong analytical skills using quantitative tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL)
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills suitable for audit and verification contexts

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for the management of a designated loan portfolio typically consisting of large, complex commercial and mortgage loans, including loans participated/syndicated with other Farm Credit Associations or Commercial Banks. Successful candidates are required to have prior experience and expertise in one for more of the following industries: Permanent Plantings, Winery, Vineyard, or Row Crops. Analyzes new loan applications and other loan servicing requests through the thorough analysis of financial statements and other pertinent credit information, and develops credit packages. The Senior Portfolio Analyst will assist the Relationship Manager in gathering the required information necessary to make appropriate credit decisions, and analyze credit and servicing requests from start to finish. Will serve as a secondary point of contact for the customer. This position will make recommendations on loan and servicing requests based on the Association's Loan Underwriting Standards. Responsible for the approval/denial of credit actions through either the utilization of assigned delegated authority or recommendation to a higher level of delegated authority. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Assists the Relationship Manager in the gathering of information necessary to make appropriate credit decisions. This includes meeting with the customer and asking appropriate questions regarding the financial information submitted as well as all aspects of their operation. - Able to call the customer directly for follow up questions on the application package submitted and lead additional conversations as needed. - Develops credit packages and loan servicing actions. - Responsible for larger and more complex credits in the portfolio - Reviews and analyzes credit information presented; determines the need for more thorough investigation or additional information. - Requests appraisal/field reports, obtain third party verifications, obtain credit reports, and request lien searches as necessary. - Completes loan analysis, including financial statements, cash flows, loan analysis forms, trend sheets, writing narratives, and offering opinions concerning credit worthiness, risks and mitigants, and other forms as required. Formulates projections using historical financial data, current budgets and other information. - Exhibits a strong understanding of sound credit administration practices with the ability to differentially analyze complex requests and accurately identify risks and inconsistencies. - Inputs all required financial information and data into the financial analysis, loan origination and other loan processing systems. - Makes approval recommendations on loan actions based on the Association's Loan Underwriting Standards while complying with regulatory requirements. Able to independently make approval recommendations on complex credits with limited oversight from organizational management. Participates in loan committee meetings as may be required. Analysts in this role are required to support and articulate their credit decision. - Responsible for preparing information for Participation/Syndication partners as needed and participates in lender meetings as may be required. - Demonstrated analytical and statistical skills to effectively evaluate loan requests and make the appropriate independent opinion of credit worthiness of the applicant, aligned with the credit philosophy and risk appetite of the organization. - Monitors assigned portfolio to determine potential servicing needs of the customer and to ensure customers stay in compliance with the terms and conditions of their loan(s). - Determines and reviews legal documentation. Coordinates with all credit and approval departments as well as with attorney's and title companies on loan closings, as needed. - Contribute to process improvement initiatives as assigned. - Represent the underwriting team in cross-functional projects and strategic planning efforts as assigned. - Performs other duties assigned.
