We're looking for talented Legal subject-matter experts (SMEs) to bring deep domain expertise and elevate the quality of our AI training data. This is a remote, flexible opportunity to collaborate directly with their AI research teams. What You'll Do Guide research teams to close knowledge gaps and improve AI model performance in your legal domain. Create and maintain precise annotation standards tailored to your legal specialty. As a domain SME, you'll set the gold standard for quality and rigor. Translate tacit legal expertise into explicit, teachable knowledge for AI systems. Develop guidelines and detailed rubrics / evaluation frameworks to assess legal reasoning across tasks Design challenging, domain-relevant legal tasks across multiple specializations, and write accurate and well-structured solutions to legal problems. Required Skills & Experience Education: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, or advanced degree in a relevant field related to legal expertise. Experience: A minimum of 5 years professional legal experience, outside of any internships or clerkships. Experience teaching advanced legal concepts (e.g., law school instruction), demonstrating ability to distill and relay complex legal problems in logical, step-by-step thinking preferred. Domain expertise in 1 or more of the following: Constitutional Law Criminal Law Civil Procedure Corporate Law Intellectual Property Law Employment and Labor Law Regulatory and Compliance Law Litigation and Dispute Resolution Contract Law Antitrust and Competition Law International Law Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills to clearly convey complex legal concepts to a diverse, non-expert audience.
