Senior Systems Engineer

ALTEN

• Plan and support technical activities across spacecraft programs • Manage system-level elements such as functional models, modes, interfaces, and requirements • Conduct risk assessments, trade-offs, and technical evaluations • Support subsystem and software design through multidisciplinary studies • Lead system assessments, baseline definitions, and budget planning • Contribute to configuration-controlled engineering documentation • Support product implementation, integration, verification, and validation at system and flight levels • Help improve and iterate on company-wide systems engineering processes

Job Requirements

  • Space industry experience is mandatory
  • 8+ years in spacecraft system engineering
  • Experience with system requirements, trade studies, and spacecraft design
  • Familiar with spacecraft assembly, integration, testing, and operations
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience in Aerospace, Engineering, Physics, or similar
  • Knowledge in at least three areas: avionics, power, propulsion, thermal/mechanical, control systems, or system testing
  • Strong organization and teamwork skills

You will partner with engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to make informed product decisions and drive execution. This role ensures products are integrated into broader Cargill business processes, data flows, and application ecosystems to maximize business value, interoperability, and user adoption. Qualifications - Minimum requirement of 6 years of relevant work experience. - Experience as a Product Manager (or similar role) delivering large scale digital platform, Digital Twin, or geospatial solutions for commercial infrastructure or large real estate and asset portfolios. - Experience with photogrammetry and LiDAR software (e.g., Pix4D, PIX4DCloud, CloudCompare, NavVis Ivon, Flyability Inspector, TerraScan, LiDAR360, etc.) and GIS software (e.g., iHawk, ArcGIS, QGIS). - Experience with advanced sensor data collection, processing workflows, visualization and data management for enabling asset owners, users and leadership. - Working knowledge of data and information architecture, particularly geospatial, time series, and asset/linear network data, and supporting operational utilization. - Experience operating within large, matrixed organizations with enterprise governance, security, and compliance requirements. - Ability to travel up to 20%. Preferred Qualifications - Three or more years owning product vision, strategy, roadmap, and prioritization for advanced digital data and technology-enabled products. - Experience in digital business process analysis, data management and redesign, particularly across asset management, operations, and maintenance domains. Experience with related software (e.g., MISTRAS PMCS, Hexagon SDX, Enablon, SAP, etc.). - Experience managing products that integrate GIS with enterprise and operational systems such as EAMS, ERP, BIM, IoT platforms, and data warehouses/lakes. - Strong understanding of modern digital architectures, including data platforms, cloud-based systems, APIs, and enterprise integration patterns. - Experience developing strategy, plans and executing the implementation of industry 4.0 methodology for asset management, real estate or GIS systems to support digital transformation. - Ability to support the processing and analyses of aerial imagery, LiDAR, and multispectral data for integration into GIS databases. Compensation Data The expected salary for this position is $134,000-$165,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
