Datadog
• Partner with our product and engineering teams to manage documentation projects and create public user documentation for observability and automation products used by developers. • Gather technical details for public documentation by reviewing internal product materials and hands-on testing of products. • Create developer-facing documentation and guides for Datadog SDKs, APIs, and developer tools to enable the developer community to onboard and succeed with our products. • Collaborate with the documentation team to help maintain documentation standards and contribute to ongoing process improvements. • Participate in a business-hours interrupt-handling rotation to respond to documentation questions, requests, and issues as they come up. • Review and provide editorial feedback on documentation written by others to help maintain quality and consistency.
Job Requirements
- You are a technical writer with at least 3 years of relevant experience writing developer documentation.
- You are experienced in using Markdown, a static-site generator, and Github to develop and publish documentation with a ‘Docs as Code’ approach.
- You are comfortable reading and understanding code written in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Ruby, Python).
- You are comfortable and familiar with modern infrastructure concepts such as cloud services and containers.
- You have publicly available technical writing samples.
- You have experience writing documentation for complex platforms with multiple ways for developers to interact with the product (for example, through a user interface, APIs, or automated workflows).
- You have experience using AI tools as part of documentation work.
