Design Leader, Polyphonic AI Lab

• Lead user and market research to uncover user needs, validate opportunities, and translate insights into new product ideas • Build a cohesive and scalable user experience vision and roadmap for AI Lab in close collaboration with AI Lab’s product management and engineering teams • Lead a team of strategists and product designers from research to ideation, prototyping, and production-ready designs across releases • Define design principles and interaction patterns for emerging multimodal UX paradigms, including AI-assisted workflows • Integrate with and contribute to our design system — components, patterns, and guidelines that are tailored to AI/ML tooling and can scale across AI Lab • Build strong networks with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to align on design priorities and accelerate learning and change management • Ensure solutions are developed with a strong focus on quality, cybersecurity, privacy, compliance, and responsible AI. • Stay current on trends across AI, multimodal data platforms, computer vision, digital surgery, and sensor-enabled intelligence, and incorporate insights into the product design
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (required) or Master’s degree (preferred) in Design or Design-related field.
- 8+ years of experience in product design and design management delivering platform solutions—ideally in healthcare, digital health, and/or AI-enabled product environments.
- High design craft and do-muscle with proven leadership of design teams delivering enterprise-scale digital products and platforms.
- Demonstrated teamwork and strong cross-functional leadership and ability to influence across technical, clinical, business, and executive teams.
- Experience operating in regulated environments, with knowledge of quality, privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance expectations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate strategy into clear, actionable plans.
- Ability to travel up to 25% (U.S. and international).

Design Lead
