Copy Editor
JM Career Services and Consulting LLC
• Review and edit a variety of written materials, including articles, reports, press releases, marketing materials, and more • Ensure all written materials adhere to company style and branding guidelines • Check for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors • Fact-check information and sources to ensure accuracy • Collaborate with writers and other team members to improve the overall quality of written materials • Meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Provide constructive feedback to writers to improve their writing skills • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and changes in language usage
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a copy editor or similar role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors
- Proficient in using editing and proofreading tools
- Familiarity with AP Style and other style guides
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of SEO and online content best practices is a plus
