Role Description We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for hedge fund professionals experienced in long/short equity strategies, financial modeling, investment research, earnings analysis, market assessment, and structured investment memo development. This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on hedge fund research, long/short equity analysis, financial model review, earnings prediction, market and TAM assessment, investment summary evaluation, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will apply their hedge fund experience to review investment scenarios, evaluate analytical outputs, synthesize company and market materials, and provide structured feedback based on real-world public markets workflows. Key Responsibilities - Long/Short Equity Research - Review investment scenarios involving long/short equity strategies, public company analysis, and market positioning. - Evaluate investment theses, catalysts, risk/reward framing, valuation logic, and supporting research quality. - Assess whether investment recommendations are clear, commercially sound, evidence-based, and aligned with hedge fund decision-making. - Identify gaps in analysis, unsupported assumptions, unclear conclusions, or areas requiring stronger investment reasoning. - Financial Modeling & Earnings Analysis - Review or develop financial models, earnings forecasts, investment summaries, and company analysis materials. - Evaluate model assumptions, revenue drivers, margin expectations, valuation outputs, and scenario analysis. - Support review of earnings predictions, estimate revisions, company performance analysis, and sector-specific drivers. - Assess whether financial outputs are accurate, complete, and useful for investment decision support. - Market Research & Investment Memo Review - Conduct or review market sizing, TAM analysis, competitive positioning, sector research, and industry analysis. - Review investment memos, research summaries, company profiles, and analysis documents. - Synthesize public company, market, and financial information into clear written recommendations or structured review outputs. - Prepare clear feedback based on hedge fund judgment and structured evaluation criteria. Qualifications - At least 2 years of experience at a hedge fund, asset manager, investment platform, equity research team, investment bank, or comparable finance environment. - Direct experience with long/short equity strategies. - Strong experience with financial modeling, investment research, market sizing, earnings analysis, or investment memo development. - Strong analytical judgment and written communication skills. - Comfort working independently with complex, ambiguous, or fast-moving company and market materials. - Strong judgment when evaluating investment logic, earnings drivers, valuation assumptions, and market risks. - Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment. Educational Background - A degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, mathematics, engineering, or a related analytical field is helpful. - Professional experience in hedge funds, asset management, equity research, investment banking, private equity, or public markets investing is highly relevant. - Equivalent practical experience with public company research, financial modeling, earnings analysis, valuation, or investment memo writing may also be valuable. Nice to Have - Experience with long/short equity research, sector coverage, earnings modeling, estimate revisions, valuation, or catalyst analysis. - Familiarity with SEC filings, earnings calls, investor presentations, financial statements, public market data, and company disclosures. - Experience using tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ, Refinitiv, or comparable financial research platforms. - Ability to commit at least 10 hours per week depending on project availability and scope. - Strong attention to detail in financial modeling, investment research, earnings analysis, and public market materials.
