Role Description Fairbanks Morse Defense is looking for a Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing Analytical team. The position is responsible for a variety of areas including SQL, Data Modeling, Data Visualization, and Data Warehousing. This role will support, develop, and enhance BI capabilities across all FMD business units. - Design, build, and maintain scalable Snowflake data models and data pipelines to support enterprise analytics. - Apply practical data quality techniques—including record counts, reconciliation checks, and anomaly detection—to validate accuracy, completeness, and reliability for downstream reporting. - Leverage advanced SQL, DAX, and data modeling expertise to perform complex data analysis and optimize analytical data structures. - Develop intuitive, high‑impact dashboards and visualizations in Power BI (or similar tools) that translate complex data into actionable business insights for stakeholders. - Business Analysis skills translating business needs into technical solutions. - Manage and execute BI projects to completion with internal stakeholders and external resources as required. - Document BI project details with milestones, timelines, resources, and costs required. - Provide user training and support to stakeholders. - Implement, maintain, and improve business intelligence best practices. - Act as a Business Intelligence educator, champion, and expert across FMD helping business users to better understand best practices to get value out of BI initiatives. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics or a related field required. - 5-10 or more years of experience in Business Intelligence, Business Analysis, or in a related area, preferably in a manufacturing company. - Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases (Oracle, Visual, or Jobscope ERP experience is a plus). - Experience with business intelligence technologies such as Python, AI, and API services. - Experience with government cloud environments is a plus. - Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills. - Great interpersonal and communications skills. Technical Skill - Develop knowledge and professional skills through cross training, literature and attendance at department meetings and vendor education. - Keep current with the submission of departmental and hospital required documentation and completing departmental and hospital required training. - Obtain and/or maintain appropriate technical certifications (including Epic certifications if applicable). - Develop oral and written communication skills, especially related to system changes and updates. - Review and execute testing plans. Reporting - Create new simple Business Intelligence solution designs and modify and execute more complex solutions based on existing designs and templates. - Participate actively in project planning and meetings. - Prepare and submit detailed documentation and status reports in accordance with department standards. - Perform other duties as assigned. Role Description The Office of the Senior Vice President for Research seeks an experienced, collaborative Research Analytics and Business Intelligence Specialist. This role designs, develops, and maintains business intelligence solutions for Penn State’s research enterprise. The specialist will build Power BI reports and datasets, develop SQL-based data models and datamarts, and work with stakeholders across Research Central and the Office of the Vice President for Research to turn complex data into actionable insights. Experience in healthcare, higher education, or research administration data environments, and familiarity with the research proposal lifecycle, is preferred.
