Through short-form social content, long-form documentaries, customer stories, founder content, webinars, and educational programming, you will help build one of the most trusted and recognizable brands in healthcare. Success means Alpaca becomes known not because of advertising, but because of the stories we tell and the people who share them. What You’ll Do - Story Development: - Identify and develop compelling stories across providers, families, employees, and partners. - Turn complex topics into narratives that are clear, memorable, and emotionally engaging. - Build a repeatable process for sourcing, developing, and producing stories at scale. - Partner closely with leadership to define and evolve Alpaca's narrative. - Short-Form Video: - Own Alpaca's short-form video strategy across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. - Develop concepts, scripts, interview formats, and recurring content series. - Work with editors to produce content optimized for attention, retention, and sharing. - Continuously test and refine creative formats based on performance. - Long-Form Video: - Produce customer stories, founder stories, provider spotlights, documentaries, and educational content. - Conduct interviews and capture footage in the field. - Shape narratives from raw footage into compelling long-form stories. - Build a library of evergreen content that compounds over time. Benefits - Direct exposure to company-building at an early stage. - Real ownership of critical initiatives from day one. - The opportunity to materially impact families and clinicians. - A fast learning curve that few roles can match. - Strong compensation package. - Competitive salary. - Meaningful equity. - Health benefits. - Flexible PTO. - Dinner when working late.
Role Description We are hiring a Senior Video Editor to own the craft of our most important work: customer case studies, sit-down interviews, and product demos that look and feel like they came out of a top-tier studio. This is not a social-clips role. We are looking for a genuinely talented editor who has shipped larger, higher-quality projects and can carry a piece from raw footage to a polished, broadcast-grade final cut. The ideal person is both a shooter and an editor, comfortable behind a camera on a shoot day and equally at home in the timeline. You will work directly with our marketing leadership on flagship content, with real creative ownership and a high bar for taste, pacing, and finish. What you'll do - Edit customer case studies, sit-down interviews, and product demos into polished, story-driven films. - Own post-production end to end: assembly, story structure, pacing, sound design, and color. - Shoot when needed, on location and in studio, as a hybrid shooter-editor. - Color grade footage to a clean, cinematic standard inside DaVinci Resolve. - Collaborate on creative direction and bring your own ideas, not just execute a brief. Qualifications - A strong portfolio of larger, high-quality projects. We want to see range across long-form and narrative work, not only social edits. - Real editing talent with excellent instincts for pacing, story, and audio. - Experience in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, and a willingness to edit in DaVinci Resolve (we standardize on it for color and team collaboration). - The ability to take a project from footage to finish with minimal hand-holding. - Comfortable being a shooter as well as an editor. This is a strong plus, not a hard requirement. Nice to have - Hands-on experience shooting with Sony FX3. - Color grading in S-Log3 / S-Gamut3.Cine inside DaVinci Resolve. - Motion graphics and animation chops (helpful, not required). - 3D ability in Blender for custom renders. This would be a real differentiator for us, though it is not necessary. Location San Francisco is strongly preferred. We have a tight-knit in-office culture and being in person makes collaboration and shoot days far easier. Remote is possible for an exceptional candidate. Compensation $70,000–$100,000, depending on experience and whether you bring shooting ability alongside editing. This role is cash compensation. How to apply Apply through our Ashby posting and include a link to your portfolio. Show us a clear scope of the work you have done: the kind of projects, your specific role on each, and the pieces you are proudest of. We care most about high-quality, larger projects, so lead with those.
