Candidate must be located in the Phoenix, AZ area; remote work possible in this location. Provides technical and administrative support to underwriting and management staff. Within defined company guidelines, reviews agent, broker or program manager issued policies or sets up for internal issuance, new and renewal policies, endorsements, inspections, claims, audits and non-renewal notices. Reviews various policy maintenance items for accuracy or processing and refers as required. Responsible to research and resolve inquiries from other departments. Corresponds with agents, brokers and program managers for corrections and outstanding file documentation. Determines the necessity of, and processes second and third requests. Maintains positive relationships with our agents, brokers and/or program managers. Qualifications - Undergraduate degree preferred. - Completion of general insurance courses such as IIA, AIS, ASLI is preferred. - 1 – 3 years related underwriting, processing or insurance support experience preferred. - Prior experience as Tech Und Assistant, Statistical Processing Technician, Policy Processor or commercial Rater preferred. Requirements - Basic business policies, practices and procedures. - General understanding of basic analytical and financial techniques preferred. - Knowledge of underwriting and pricing risks. - Knowledge of company underwriting standards and philosophy. - Verbal and written communication skills necessary to interact with all levels of internal and external contacts. - Ability to recognize problem situations, identify underlying issues, devise alternative solutions, select most appropriate action and follow through to implementation. - Ability to prioritize own work/time. - Ability to use PC and learn/use applicable systems. - Ability to understand, perform and become proficient with automated and manual transactions.
