Senior Manager, Software Development

• Manage all aspects of the team, including development and testing, internal and external communication/collaboration, performance management and improvement, and professional growth. • Develop, organize, prioritize, and assign objectives and responsibilities consistent with department, division, and corporate goals. • Communicate and represent departmental interests to team, other departments, divisions, and various management levels as necessary. • Provide leadership to the team through mentoring, training, and managing the activities of the team. • Manage and lead project scoping and scheduling of engineering projects; track progress of individual tasks and alert stakeholders of any concerns meeting schedules. • Ensure that projects are completed and implemented in a timely manner while following established procedures and schedules. • Regularly communicate development and testing status, project risks, resource requirements and allocation, and other relevant knowledge with upper management. • Advocate for the adoption of best practices and continuous improvement throughout the software lifecycle. • Become actively involved in daily operations and duties as needed to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems or issues. • Be a change enabler. • Be responsible for tactical management of a functional area, feature, product, or multiple products or solutions, involving senior leadership as required in major decisioning. • Balance innovation vs. delivery commitments. • Managing diverse teams (skills, geography, seniority). • Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative field, preferably computer science, math, or statistics.
  • Requires a minimum of twelve years of related programming or testing experience, including three years of project lead, supervisory or management experience.
  • Practical experience with more than one programming language (SAS, C/C++, SQL, Java, Go).
  • Owns end-to-end delivery outcomes – scope, schedule, risk management.
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Ensure projects meet timelines, quality, and process standards.
  • A strong understanding of how Agile SDLC practices enable a successful team.
  • Experience leading development and delivery at the enterprise system level.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders outside of your team and business unit.
  • Experience using SAS products (preferred, not required).
  • Maintains accountability for software lifecycle, customer-impacting issues, and continuous improvement.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
