Development Engineer – Renewables
Ulteig
• Applies current, standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to complete engineering tasks, and supports other civil, structural, and electrical design workflows as necessary on a case-by-case basis. • Develops plans, details, and reports that are complete, accurate and in accordance with sound utility-scale renewables early-stage development engineering practices. • Works closely with and provides guidance to engineering technicians and design engineers. • Engages with clients to understand their priorities, relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish project goals while exceeding client expectations. • Checks design and computations performed by internal design team and provides ideas and executes to promote higher quality designs. • Reviews development plans and specifications for constructability, safety, and risk considerations. • Maintains a value engineering mindset throughout design. • Works closely with business and engineering staff across multiple markets and technical disciplines. • Works closely with clients to understand nuanced technical needs and identify best feasible solution(s). • Supports marketing, sales and business development activities within assigned market. • Demonstrates a wide degree of out-of-the-box thinking, creativity, and design ownership.
Job Requirements
- B.S. in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent is required.
- Successful Completion of Professional Engineer (PE) registration, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire, is required, NCEES Council Record is preferred.
- Minimum of 4-6+ years of relevant engineering experience, with at least 3+ years of experience in design of utility scale renewables, required.
- Experience in utility scale renewables development is a plus.
- Experience in engineer of record or construction of utility scale renewables is a plus.
- Stormwater management and permitting experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of PVFarm, SAM, GIS/ESRI, PVProspect, or similar industry software is a plus.
- Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
