• Lead the development, decomposition, and management of system, subsystem, and interface requirements in alignment with customer needs and program objectives. • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure requirements are traceable, verifiable, and aligned with mission performance. • Participate in subsystem architecture trades to balance performance, cost, schedule, and risk. • Review and approve technical approaches to ensure designs meet requirements and integrate cleanly at the system level. • Provide technical oversight and direction to subcontractors and suppliers delivering hardware, software, and system elements. • Review subcontractor designs, analyses, test plans, and test results for compliance with requirements and interfaces. • Review and approve subcontractor technical artifacts, including requirements, designs, test plans, and deliverables. • Serve as a technical interface between subcontractors, internal engineering teams, and government stakeholders. • Actively participate in technical reviews, ensuring technical rigor and risk mitigation with subcontractors and customers. • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, fostering strong systems engineering practices and technical growth. • Promote consistency in systems engineering processes, tools, and best practices across programs. • Foster a culture of continuous learning, technical curiosity, and accountability. • Support proposal and capture efforts by contributing technical approaches, requirements understanding, and engineering cost estimates. • Write technical content including white papers, technical sections of proposals, status reports, and internal documentation. • Deliver effective internal and external technical briefings. • Engage with customers and partners to understand technical needs and communicate SIE’s engineering capabilities.

• Provide engineering support for enterprise procurement and financial applications (e.g., PRISM, Oracle-based systems). • Assist with system sustainment activities including configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting. • Support application workflows, interfaces, and integrations with USDA financial systems. • Develop and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures. • Administer and support IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and IBM MQ in enterprise environments. • Deploy, configure, and maintain WebSphere and MQ workloads on Linux-based platforms. • Support clustering, failover configurations, performance tuning, and secure messaging. • Assist with middleware automation using scripting and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, shell scripting). • Support PRISM and similar enterprise systems across AIX and Linux environments. • Perform system tuning, patching, remediation, and environment troubleshooting. • Participate in efforts supporting the migration of PRISM and related middleware from AIX to Linux-based Azure environments. • Support Oracle-based enterprise applications and databases integrated with middleware platforms. • Assist with PL/SQL development, database automation, and operational support. • Support Oracle APEX-based components, dashboards, and APIs as needed. • Collaborate with OCP, OCIO, developers, architects, security teams, and operations staff. • Provide engineering inputs, documentation, SOPs, and onboarding materials. • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and change control processes.

• The Systems Engineer designs, implements, and supports secure, scalable identity, endpoint, and SaaS administration platforms across the organization. • This role owns complex technical initiatives end to end, partners cross-functionally to improve reliability and security, and mentors junior engineers through strong standards, automation, and operational excellence.

• Providing technical leadership and establishing product architecture (cloud, mobile, and embedded) for digital and connected products. • Leading ecosystem alignment with smart home consortium and coordinating with internal team members and partners. • Bringing smart home water products from ideation to production. • Working in Architectural Frameworks (DoDAF, Zachman, TOGAF, etc.) to communicate architecture to the team members. • Guiding the product development teams with strategic direction regarding technology selection, sourcing, implementation, and support. • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of engineers to design an efficient solution for the entire system; coordinating technical activities across the entire project. • Delivering documentation and technical coordination across various engineering competencies. • Driving product solution requirements management (under both waterfall and agile methodologies), verification management, DFMEA, P-Diagrams, etc. • Working with Product Managers, Product Owners, and leadership on product requirements and goals. • Crafting our products with a forward-looking product lifecycle to be relevant and last years beyond the initial launch. • Delivering product development projects on target, with predictability in the design and verification phases. • Working with existing team members to coordinate capabilities and updates to products in production.
