Role Description As a Team Lead in the Renewable Structural group, you will be responsible for managing a team comprised of engineers, drafters, designers, and/or technicians for utility scale solar projects nationwide. Your primary responsibility will be the accurate, timely, and quality completion of Solar Photovoltaic scopes assigned to the team. The TL will assist in the development of the departments Standard Best Practices (SBPs) and enforcing / implementing them where pertinent. Role Description This position is open to remote candidates in the US; however, applicants must hold and maintain a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California. We are seeking a licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE-Civil) with strong experience in residential land development projects. The ideal candidate will lead and support the design and delivery of grading, drainage, site improvement plans, and related entitlements for single-family, multi-family, and subdivision projects throughout California. This role involves close coordination with clients, municipalities, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are designed efficiently, comply with local regulations, and are successfully permitted and constructed. Key Responsibilities - Prepare and stamp site plans, grading plans, drainage plans, and improvement plans for residential developments. - Design and analyze grading, earthwork, stormwater drainage systems, and erosion control measures. - Develop Best Management Practices (BMPs) for stormwater pollution prevention, erosion control, and compliance with NPDES, CGP, and local SUSMP requirements. - Oversee and coordinate construction staking activities, including field verification and as-built documentation. - Manage plan submittals to cities, counties, and regulatory agencies; respond to comments and secure approvals. - Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for drainage systems, retention/detention basins, and flood protection. - Coordinate with surveyors, geotechnical engineers, architects, and landscape architects during project development. - Provide technical support during construction, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and site visits. - Ensure all designs comply with California Building Code, Caltrans standards (where applicable), local municipal codes, ADA requirements, and fire department standards. - Prepare engineering reports, cost estimates, and technical exhibits for entitlement and permitting processes. - Mentor junior engineers and designers as needed.
