What you'll do: You will work alongside NinjaTrader's talented development team, designing, building, and deploying backend server solutions that distribute large amounts of data. As a Backend Software Engineer specializing in Scala in a Kubernetes environment, you will be instrumental in architecting and implementing scalable, containerized backend solutions for our advanced trading systems. This role requires a deep understanding of distributed systems, container orchestration, and a passion for building resilient and efficient financial technology. In this role you will: - Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Scala, leveraging Kubernetes for container orchestration - Architect, deploy, and manage backend applications in a Kubernetes environment to ensure scalability, availability, and resilience - Implement and enhance microservices architecture for trading applications, promoting modularity and maintainability - Develop distributed systems to support high-performance and low-latency trading platform requirements - Implement robust monitoring and logging solutions to track and analyze backend system performance in real time - Integrate backend systems with various market data feeds, ensuring accurate and timely data for trading activities - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, UX/UI designers, and other engineers, to deliver end-to-end trading solutions - Create and maintain technical documentation for backend systems, Kubernetes configurations, and deployment procedures - Work directly with project managers to help deliver solutions What you'll need: - BA or MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field - 6+ years of software development experience designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining real-time applications - Professional experience with Scala backend software development - Experience working with Kubernetes and cloud services such as Google Cloud Platform - Dependable team player with a strong work ethic, exceptional accuracy, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Comfort resolving uncertainty and communicating effectively for issue resolution - Ability to take full ownership (design, implement, test, deploy, maintain, iterate) of projects Bonus points for: - Financial knowledge - Experience leveraging AI/ML tools or technologies to enhance software development, system performance, or automation Compensation: The salary range for this role will be $140,000.00 - $190,000.00 USD. In addition, this position will also receive an annual target bonus of 10%. Bonus pay at NinjaTrader is based on individual performance (50%) as well as company/team performance (50%). Salary and bonus earnings are only two components of the total compensation package offered by NinjaTrader. NinjaTrader offers a 401K plan through ADP under which the company will match up to 3.5% of employee contributions. • Design, develop, and maintain Appian applications, including workflows, interfaces, process models, and business rules supporting case management functions • Implement Appian objects aligned to enterprise architecture standards • Support full lifecycle delivery across development, testing, deployment, and production support • Develop and maintain integrations between Appian and external systems, including REST and SOAP APIs, Kafka/DataHub event-driven pipelines, and Relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.) • Support data transformation, validation, and pipeline activities across cloud environments • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, retrospectives) • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Technical Leads to translate requirements into user stories and technical solutions • Ensure traceability across requirements, design, development, and testing within tools such as JIRA and GitLab • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure code practices • Support unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and defect resolution • Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility, security standards (NIST 800-53), and organizational DevSecOps practices • Support applications deployed in AWS and/or Azure environments, including containerized deployments where applicable • Assist in performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization of applications using cloud-native tools and dashboards • Contribute to scalability and availability improvements, particularly during high-volume processing periods • Analyze and resolve production issues, defects, and enhancement requests in a mission-critical O&M environment • Participate in on-call or surge support during peak operational periods • Continuously identify opportunities for performance optimization, automation, and cost efficiency

• Design, develop, and implement solutions using SharePoint Online / SharePoint On‑Prem • Build custom components using: SPFx (SharePoint Framework), React, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSOM, REST API, Graph API • Develop custom web parts, extensions, forms, and solutions • Customize SharePoint pages, site templates, content types, lists, libraries, views, permissions, etc • Create Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Power BI integrations • Integrate SharePoint with other Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, OneDrive, Outlook, Azure AD)
