We’re looking for a Product Evangelist to deeply understand the product, work directly with users in real time, and help turn insightful conversations into helpful content. We're a small team of humans (and one owl ) working together to do big things — and that’s where you come in. In this role you’ll have a transformational impact on ReadMe across both the trajectory of the business and our thriving culture. 🦉 What we do ReadMe helps more than 5,000 leading startups and tech companies build beautiful, personalized, and interactive developer hubs. We’re providing tools for teams to build a better developer experience and make their products and APIs easier to use. We’ve got great support from our investors at Accel who led our Series A , and our interview process reflects the open, caring, and whimsical culture we want to maintain as we scale. ✅ What you’ll do here Become deeply knowledgeable about the ReadMe product Understand how customers use ReadMe day-to-day. Stay close to new features, changes, and product direction. Be able to confidently explain why things work the way they do, not just how . Be customer-facing in real time Host office hours and join live support or customer calls. Help users troubleshoot issues, unblock their workflows, and discover better ways to use ReadMe. Represent the product clearly, empathetically, and accurately in every interaction. Proactively engage and support our user community Help own and nurture our Slack community. Jump into conversations, answer questions, and surface patterns you’re seeing. Build trust with users by being present, helpful, and genuinely invested in their success. Produce high-quality product content Write clear, thoughtful technical documentation. Help translate common questions into reusable resources. Create videos, walkthroughs, or other educational content to help users get more out of ReadMe. 💙 You’ll love this job if you… Enjoy becoming an expert in a product and helping others understand it. Are passionate about making products people love. 🌱 How you’ll grow Within 1️⃣ month, you’ll Get to know the team Meet your onboarding buddy, who’ll help you ramp up and navigate your first few months. Learn how different teams at ReadMe work together — product, engineering, support, and beyond. Start building product context Explore the product hands-on. Sit in on customer conversations and support interactions. Begin contributing to docs or internal knowledge bases. Within 3️⃣ months, you’ll Get to know the broader team via Donuts 🍩 ; you’ll get paired randomly with teammates across ReadMe, just to get to know who they are beyond work! Offsite retreats (recent locations include Colorado, Glacier Park, and Tulum). Become a trusted product voice Confidently host office hours and customer calls. Actively participate in the Slack community. Start shaping how we support and educate users Improve existing docs or create new ones based on real user needs. Share insights and feedback with the broader team. Get to know how ReadMe operates Understand our roadmap, development cycle, and business model. See how customer feedback influences product decisions. Within 6️⃣ months, you’ll Own meaningful parts of the customer experience Take responsibility for areas like onboarding content, community engagement, or a specific product surface. Be a connector across teams Help translate customer needs into actionable insights for product and engineering. Have a body of work you’re proud of Docs, videos, community initiatives, and customer wins that clearly show your impact. What’s the hiring process like? Finally, we’ll invite you to an "onsite" interview conducted over Zoom. These usually take 3.5 to 5 hours including an hour break in between. We are able to be flexible with the schedule and split it up over two days if that works best for you! We’ll let you know how things went within a week.
