Role Description As a Scrum Master at Evolent, you will act as a servant leader, coach, and change agent, enabling agile teams to deliver measurable business outcomes in the healthcare domain. Beyond facilitating ceremonies, you will drive team effectiveness, flow optimization, and outcome-based delivery, while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer value focus. Agile Facilitation & Delivery Excellence - Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Reviews, Retrospectives) with a strong focus on outcomes, flow, and business value rather than just process adherence. - Ensure alignment of team deliverables with product goals, OKRs, and customer impact. Coaching & Team Enablement - Coach teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile mindset, product thinking, and value-driven delivery. - Enable teams to become self-organizing, cross-functional, and high-performing. - Drive adoption of modern Agile practices (e.g., flow metrics, limiting WIP, reducing cycle time). Flow & Delivery Optimization - Identify and remove impediments proactively, including systemic and cross-team dependencies. - Improve predictability, throughput, and cycle time using data-driven insights. - Reduce spillovers, rework, and change failure rates through continuous improvement. Metrics & Data-Driven Insights - Track and analyze flow metrics (Cycle Time, Lead Time, Throughput, Predictability, Change Failure Rate). - Move teams from output metrics (velocity) to outcome metrics (value delivered, customer impact, OKRs). - Use tools like Jira, dashboards, and Power BI to provide actionable insights to leadership. Stakeholder Collaboration - Partner closely with Product Owners on backlog refinement, prioritization, and clarity of requirements. - Facilitate alignment across engineering, product, operations, and business teams. - Support PI/Quarterly planning, dependency management, and risk mitigation. Continuous Improvement & Transformation - Foster a culture of inspection, adaptation, and psychological safety. - Drive Agile maturity and transformation initiatives at team and org levels. - Actively contribute to Agile community of practice and knowledge sharing. AI & Innovation Enablement (New Market Expectation) - Encourage teams to leverage AI tools (e.g., Copilot, automation) for productivity and quality improvements. - Identify opportunities to improve engineering efficiency and delivery using emerging technologies. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Business, or related field. - 3–6+ years of Scrum Master / Agile Coach experience, preferably in healthcare or regulated environments. - Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe – working knowledge). - Product mindset & outcome-driven delivery. - Flow metrics and lean principles. - Certifications: CSM / PSM (required); SAFe or advanced Agile certifications preferred. Requirements - Coaching & facilitation excellence (not just meeting management). - Strong data literacy (metrics interpretation, dashboards). - Ability to handle conflict resolution, influencing, and stakeholder management. - Experience working with distributed/global teams. - Tools & Technology: Jira (advanced usage), Confluence, Power BI / Excel for reporting & analytics. - Exposure to AI-enabled tools and automation platforms (good to have). - Domain Knowledge: Healthcare / payer / claims / compliance knowledge is a strong advantage. Benefits - Opportunity to drive Agile transformation in a high-impact healthcare environment. - Work on data-driven and outcome-focused delivery models. - Exposure to cutting-edge AI and modern engineering practices. - Strong culture of learning, collaboration, and leadership growth. Mandatory Requirements - Employees must have a high-speed broadband internet connection with a minimum speed of 50 Mbps and the ability to set up a wired connection to their home network to ensure effective remote work.
