• Define and lead Routeware’s multi-year UX strategy across the product portfolio, with an explicit prioritization framework for where to invest first. • Drive convergence of visual language, interaction patterns, and information architecture across acquired and native products. • Build and own a scalable design system (components, tokens, patterns, accessibility primitives) usable by all product squads. • Establish UX, UI, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA minimum) and the governance to keep them enforced as products evolve. • Operationalize UX inside our agile process: discovery, research, prototyping, validation, and release readiness — without becoming a bottleneck. • Define how PMs, engineers, and designers collaborate at each phase, including lightweight rituals like design reviews, critique, and handoff. • Directly manage and grow our existing UX designer. Mentor, develop, and unblock. Build the hiring plan and org design for the function as the team scales. • Establish scalable, lightweight research practices the team can run with: usability testing, journey mapping, and customer feedback synthesis. • Define and own UX-specific success metrics (task completion, time-to-value, usability scores, onboarding friction). Co-own product adoption and retention metrics with Product, and drive continuous UX improvement through experimentation. • Use AI tooling fluently to accelerate the team’s work — prototyping (Figma AI, v0, similar), research synthesis, content generation, and design QA.

Role Description We’re looking for a Product Designer Contractor to join our Lab37 Team . Please note this contract role is 3 months long with no possibility of extension. You’ll be presented with existing interfaces across our internal tools ecosystem: - Robot user interfaces - Task scheduling - Inventory tracking hardware - Manager dashboards - Performance metrics tracking Your role will be to build a coherent, elegant, and unique design system unifying the products across these multiple platforms and devices. Prototyping, testing, and iterating are our DNA, and we expect that a successful candidate will have demonstrated experience using this process. • Drive product design for web, and support on the VR and desktop apps where needed • Work collaboratively with peers in Engineering and Product from scoping, ideation to delivery to ensure we have solved the identified problem with the best solution possible balancing user experience, visual design, and feasibility • Continue to iterate on and maintain our web design system • Be an evangelist and voice of Design internally within the company, sharing work in progress prototypes and the thought process to take the broader team on the journey
