Role Description The Mid-Level Cloud Engineer designs and supports cloud-native solutions on AWS—leveraging EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and VPC networking—emphasizing scalability, security, and automation to support EDP operations. Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, and support highly automated AWS cloud-native solutions, emphasizing scalability, security, and automation across the EDP ecosystem. - Engineer and operate AWS services central to the program (EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM), integrating IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions) to enable repeatable, compliant deployments. - Implement/maintain VPC networking patterns required for secure platform connectivity and operational effectiveness. - Coordinate with infrastructure architecture and cybersecurity to ensure cloud-native solutions meet resilience and compliance objectives. Qualifications - Minimum 7+ years hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly automated cloud-native solutions on AWS using EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, Terraform, GitHub Actions, and VPC networking. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/IS or related field (preferred). - Strong experience in AWS cloud technologies and/or Databricks. - Experience organizing and managing multiple complex and interrelated tasks; ability to coordinate with Government technical leads and maintain technical quality. - Advanced cloud certifications in good standing (highly preferred). Role Description Effectual Cloud Architects are responsible for technical leadership of Professional Services projects. They partner with Effectual’s Engagement Managers (EMs) to deliver an exceptional customer and delivery team experience. Effectual Cloud Architects are “Brand Ambassadors” and are expected to demonstrate Effectual’s experience and expertise through the delivery of high-quality, leading-practice solutions to customers. A Glimpse into the Daily Routine of a Cloud Architect - Design and document a system in AWS to meet customer needs and requirements. - Meet with a customer or internal team member to troubleshoot, educate, and unblock implementation progress. - Partner with an Engagement Manager to craft customer communication. - Gather requirements, document current state, and educate customers on your solution approach. - Jump on a pre-sales call to demonstrate Effectual’s expertise and experience to a potential customer.
