Role Description This is a unique and exciting moment for the Assurance practice. With a recent change in leadership, you'll have the opportunity to partner directly with Carly as she shapes and brings to life a new vision, goals, and strategy for Assurance. You'll play a central role in supporting the practice through this pivotal period of transformation — helping to define what comes next and making it happen. As Chief of Staff, you'll work at the intersection of strategy, operations, and people — gaining a front-row seat to how the Assurance practice works, how decisions are made, and what drives business success. You'll build deep relationships with senior leaders across Canada and the global network, and have meaningful influence over the direction of the practice. This role will stretch you, challenge you, and expand your leadership capabilities in ways few other roles can. This 16 – 18 month secondment would commence July 2026 at the end of which you'll have broadened skills, expanded visibility, and a unique perspective on the business. The Opportunity As Chief of Staff, unlock your potential and embrace the chance to drive meaningful outcomes that’ll elevate your career. You are the strategic right hand to the Assurance Leader and a driving force behind the Assurance Leadership Team (ALT). Your work will blend high-level strategy with hands-on execution across five key areas: - Strategy & Planning - Drive the Assurance business plan — from long-term vision to actionable objectives - Lead select strategic initiatives and manage the ALT's strategic portfolio - Establish governance to hold the ALT accountable for results - Organize the annual strategic planning offsite for the ALT, and quarterly follow-up sessions - Participate in annual planning including budgeting, business plans, risk registers, and investment tracking - Develop strategic content for the CLT, Board, and ALT - Operations & Connectivity - Manage ALT meeting cadences, agendas, materials, and follow-through - Collaborate cross-functionally (HC, Finance, Communications, etc.) to ensure alignment and quality - Act as a liaison and problem-solver on behalf of the Assurance Leader - Connect with other Line of Service Chiefs of Staff to drive synergies - In years where an Assurance conference takes place, play a critical role in planning and running the event - Communication & Brand - Manage content for partner and staff communications - Provide input into talking points, presentations, and brand amplification - Capture and share practice sentiment with leadership - Represent Assurance at internal forums, including Canada's extended Chief of Staff sessions - Quality - Support the Quality Management for Service Excellence (QMSE) program - Ensure Audit Quality Indicators are embedded in communications and agendas - Liaise with the Assurance Risk & Quality group on internal risk reviews - Asia Pacific Americas (APA) (~15% of time) - Cascade global strategic priorities into the practice - Coordinate APA meetings and oversee related actions and budget - Liaise with Asia Pacific and EMEA leaders to share ideas and best practices Qualifications - Demonstrated experience at the Experienced Senior Manager or Director level; MBA and/or CPA designation is an asset - Strong business acumen with an understanding of the Assurance business and confidence working in an ever-changing environment - Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach; calm and composed under pressure with the ability to tackle challenges creatively and with limited direction - Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to work outside of normal business hours as needed - Superior communication and presentation skills with the ability to prepare and deliver highly strategic materials to senior leadership, including members of the ALT and CLT - Strong connector of people and ideas with the ability to influence peers and senior partners while tying concepts back to overall strategic objectives - Superior interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across internal and external teams and build trust at all levels - Discretion in handling highly confidential information with a commitment to professionalism, integrity, and superior client service for both internal and external stakeholders - Resilience, positivity, and a sense of humour during a period of high change — paired with a genuine passion for the long-term success of the Assurance business - When applying to a Quebec based opportunity, fluency in French is required. Outside of Quebec, fluency in French is an asset Requirements - This role has the option of being based out of any office location - This is a 16-18 month secondment opportunity - The application deadline for this opportunity is June 19, 2026.
