Qualifications - Strong software engineering skills, including proficiency in programming languages such as Golang, Java, C#. - Demonstrable expertise in complex back-end systems. - Experience in designing, developing, and testing high-quality services. - Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams with at least 2 years of experience in that role. - Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to think differently, and an understanding that compromise, negotiation, and practicality are important qualities. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Job Summary We are looking for a Shock, Vibration, & Transportation Engineer to ensure the reliability of AI hardware systems, including components, servers, and rack-level products. This role focuses on transportation validation, mechanical reliability, and packaging performance under real-world conditions. The engineer will be responsible for executing ISTA-based testing, analyzing failures, and providing practical debug solutions to improve product robustness and shipment readiness. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure products can safely withstand global logistics environments while meeting performance and cost targets. Key Responsibilities and Skills - Plan and execute shock, vibration, and transportation tests for AI components, servers, and rack systems - Develop test plans based on ISTA and ASTM standards and real-world logistics conditions - Perform testing including: - Random vibration, sine sweep, and mechanical shock - Packaged vibration, drop, and incline impact - Lead packaging validation and shipment strategy: - Evaluate protection performance vs cost - Define assembly vs disassembly approach for shipment - Conduct mechanical inspection and liquid cooling validation: - Identify structural damage and leakage risks - Execute functional validation during/after testing (system stress program) - Perform failure analysis and root cause investigation - Provide debug solutions and design/packaging improvements - Analyze test data (PSD, resonance) and generate reports - Collaborate with cross-functional teams and ODM partners Qualifications Required - Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or related field - Experience in shock, vibration, or transportation testing - Familiar with ISTA standards and vibration/shock fundamentals (PSD, Grms) - Knowledge of mechanical failure mechanisms (PCB, solder, connectors) - Strong debug and root cause analysis skills Preferred - Experience with AI servers or data center hardware - Knowledge of liquid cooling systems - Familiar with ASTM / JEDEC / IEC standards - Experience in packaging design and rack-level shipment - Familiar with failure analysis tools (X-ray, cross-section, etc.) Benefits In addition to a competitive salary, Graphcore offers a competitive benefits package. Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability, Materials, or related Engineering. - 10+ years of reliability engineering experience in AI servers, datacenter systems, HPC, or complex electronics. - Hands-on experience with environmental, shock, and vibration testing. - Strong knowledge of reliability methodologies and statistical analysis. - Practical experience with liquid cooling and HVDC systems. - Proven failure analysis and RCA capability. - Strong communication skills in English; Mandarin a plus.
