Job Description

Assistant Controller

Serve Robotics

• Manage and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes • Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team members through regular coaching, performance feedback, and career development planning • Oversee the consolidation of global subsidiaries, including foreign currency translation and eliminations • Oversee Accounts Payable ensuring timely payments • Oversee Accounts Receivable ensuring timely receipt of invoices • Oversee accounting for property, plant, and equipment, including capitalization policies, depreciation, impairments, and asset disposals • Manage accounting for leases under ASC 842, including ROU assets, lease liabilities, and related disclosures • Support in coordination with external and Internal auditors and manage audit deliverables • Maintain process documentation, and narratives • Help scale accounting systems, tools, and workflows to support company growth • Support in year-end inventory count (travel may be required) • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration • Act as a trusted backup to the Controller • Project management of ad hoc projects

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • 4-5 years experience managing and leading a team and/or multiple functions
  • Combination of Big 4 public accounting and industry experience
  • Experience working at or supporting a public company
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Hands-on experience with SOX compliance
  • Advanced financial technology skills; experience with modern ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite)
