Job Description
SEO Content Writer
Digital Shift
Role Description At Digital Shift, the writing is the product. Since 2007 we've helped home service businesses across Canada and the US win customers from search: plumbers, HVAC companies, electricians, remodelers, appliance repair shops, and the trades around them. We're hiring a full-time SEO Content Writer to do the work properly: research a topic until you own it, then write something that ranks and gets read. And you do it from home, on your own hours, not someone else's midnight. You'll report to our Content Lead and work alongside our SEO and outreach team. The goal is simple: help our clients show up in search and sound like the local expert homeowners want to call. You'll do that through blog posts, service pages, and marketing copy worth reading. - Research industry topics and turn them into content ideas worth publishing - Write structured drafts with a clear voice, real specifics, and no filler - Come up with headlines and copy that earn the click without overpromising - Hit your deadlines with accurate, well-researched work - Use online project management tools to stay on top of several writing projects at once - Work with the SEO and outreach team to deliver what each client needs - Take creative briefs, handle edits, and get drafts to final approval - Follow each client's editorial and SEO guidelines Qualifications - 3+ years of full-time experience in content writing, communications, or a similar role - Excellent written English, clean grammar, and a sharp eye for detail - Strong writing skills: you can make an argument, use the right structure, and make people care - Comfort using AI and LLM tools (like ChatGPT or Claude) for research and analysis - Proven ability to handle competing deadlines without dropping quality - A university degree or college diploma in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field Requirements - Familiarity with on-page SEO practices and tools - Experience writing home service content (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, remodeling, appliance). This one's a real asset. - Google Analytics certification, which is helpful but not required - Experience in an agency or a professional content team Benefits - This is a full-time, remote role, and you'll work during your regular daytime hours. - You'll need a reliable internet connection, a quiet place to focus, and the kind of self-direction that keeps work moving without someone looking over your shoulder. - We stay in sync through team chat and project tools, so being responsive during your workday matters. Company Description We've done digital marketing our own way since 2007. We skip the usual agency nonsense and focus on two things: teams that get results, and relationships that last. We help home service businesses in Canada and the US turn online searchers into customers. We also care about who's on the team. We've built a place where different voices are heard and where your well-being isn't an afterthought. You'll get real challenges, a supportive group of people, and room to grow. Compensation The range for this role is ₱40,000 to ₱65,000 per month, based on your experience and the quality of your writing, with quarterly performance bonuses on top.
