• Responsible for the functional management, leadership and execution of all sales related activities for the BJ’s account • Develop strategic and winning relationships throughout BJ’s portfolio • Establish strong working relationship with all internal teams including Customer Strategy, Finance, and Customer Service • Detailed understanding of the Customers go-to-market model including Category Management strategy • Deliver target Budget plan and new product distribution goals • Execute our brand and category growth strategy that align with the customer • Identify new opportunities for growth; develop and implement strategic written sales plans in accordance with corporate goals • Maintain clear understanding of customer objectives and liaise with RVP to develop operational plans to manage execution and measure results • Foster and grow existing and new relationships within account • Educate our business partners on our products, retail goals, and measurement of success • Deliver customer presentations that demonstrate innovation, shelf positioning, promotions, communicate pricing, etc. • Manage daily business in partnership with customers • Sell-in new products and all promotions to qualified retailers; ensure full-line distribution of products (new & existing items) • Work with customers to implement Retail initiatives and monitor Retail standards • Ongoing contract management that focuses on strategic alignment • Responsible for working with agencies to input Trade Investment Management (Osprey) • Monthly reporting, sales analytics and insights; • P&L management within respective account coverage • Perform other duties as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
- 5+ years’ experience preferred; minimum 2 years Managing Large Customers
- Must have strong relationships and/or experience with BJ’s or similar retailer
- Sales experience in the Grocery, Drug and/or Mass retail channel(s) is required
- Prior experience with BJ’s is preferred
- Experience in consumer goods and Vitamins and supplements is highly preferred
- Prior experience using syndicated data to determine customer needs and establish the most effective pricing and promotional activities that will increase sales and market share for the company and its customers
- Knowledge regarding Project Management, and experience with setting up and managing projects in a complex, fast-moving environment
- Knowledge regarding relationship management, experience and mindset to work with partners in building initiatives that deliver on goals
- Strong cross functional relationships with assigned accounts
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
- P&L management and strong financial acumen.

Role Description Leads the Food Service and Industrial sales divisions (B2B) to maximize growth and market share by gaining distribution and increasing sales, while building the Marukan brand throughout all food service sales channels and ensuring the long-term strength of the company. Essential Functions - Food Service Sales – Direct selling to distributors and operator customers at all levels. - Building and leading a sales department through hiring, training, and development of brokers and contractors. - Communication and Reporting: - Write and distribute sales and marketing announcements to distributors and customers. - Assists to resolve customer inquiries with customer service department. - Assists VP of Sales in creating the B2B sales strategy for the company. - Summarizes sales and customer activity for the VP of Sales to report to head office in Japan. - Forecast customer demand and communicates short and long-term production needs to VP of Sales and VP of Operations (production). - Develop private brand sales with new and existing customers. - Supervisory: - Travel to key markets once per year, more often for large markets, for business reviews with key customers and distributors, broker evaluations, distributor sales meetings and ride-alongs, culinary training and events, tradeshows, etc. - Works with Accounts Receivable to reconcile customer deductions and account for sales department spending.
